1  Input-Finishing Touches On a Dress in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by Daneisha on: August 23, 2011 04:41:48 PM
I made this dress.  I think it's my first time making clothes.  I'm just looking for ideas on how to finish the edges.  I know I could always just hem the edges, but I want something that looks a little different. I can't really afford to lose much length at the bottom.  I'm not exactly sure what I wanted the sleeves to look like, but I think they're OK as is.  I'm open to any ideas you guys throw my way.  Also, I forgot I wanted to add pockets.  It's just basted right now, so I can always take it apart.  I'm in the process of looking for a tute on how to add pockets to the inside, not like just sewing them on the outside.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

Here's a kind of close up of the edges.  The material is a thin flannel I guess.

My bedroom is a mess.  My mirror is dirty.

2  A snolphin, a platypus, and a narwhal --digital in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by Daneisha on: February 26, 2011 10:35:29 AM
I just got a wacom tablet for my illustration class.  To get used to working with it, i've been making all these weird things.

Poor guy...doesn't quite fit in.

3  Just call me Dr. Frankenstein in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by Daneisha on: December 07, 2010 04:14:54 PM
My son drew this monster and I brought him to life.  It's my first time making a stuffie and sewing a hidden stitch, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be.  I'm sure once he sees it, I'll be making many more!  I machine embroidered the eyes and mouth, hoping to give it a more polished look, but my lousy hand sewing skills kinda ruined that!

4  Re: Gnomes and Mushrooms Swap CLOSED Mail by Sept 15th in The Swap Gallery by Daneisha on: September 18, 2010 01:24:57 PM
I received from kwality570 today!  Here's what I got:

Stickers, which I love!  I heart all woodland creatures!

I have to confess that I'm not exactly sure what this is, lol, but it is very well made!  The embroidery is spot on!

And I got a shirt which is fantastic!  The gnome is very cute and there's also stars, I love stars!  My so and I are leaving for an adventure shortly and I will be wearing it!

And lastly, a secret holding can!  I call it that because I could not ,for the life of me, figure out how to open it! lol, but that little washer does the trick!  Are the gnome and shrooms hand drawn?  If so, you did an awesome job!

Thanks so much!  I love everything!

5  Perry the Platypus in Dessert by Daneisha on: September 12, 2010 03:15:53 PM
He's the cake I made for my son's 5th b-day party.  We LOVE Phineas and Ferb!  This is the first fancy cake I ever made, it's definitely not perfect, but I'm happy with how it turned out.  The beak, tail, and feet are rice crispie treats. I was stumped on how to do the eyes so I just sewed some black and white vinyl together and stuck them on there lol

6  Pleated Tigers in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Daneisha on: September 04, 2010 07:29:01 AM
Someone suggested that I make some LSU things and this is what I came up with.  I love the style, not crazy about the LSU. eh.

7  beep beep* in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by Daneisha on: August 28, 2010 06:42:32 PM
*I imagine that's what a vespa sounds like.

I've been needing a new purse for months, but just got around to making one today.  You know how it is.  You have this awesome fabric but you're afraid to use it because you don't want to screw it up.  I bit the bullet and here is the result!  I'm pretty happy with it.  I got lazy and decided to just go with a pocket instead of putting a zippered pocket inside. The loop you see is for my keys because I hate having to dig around for them.  I just hope that I'll remember to use it!  I really love this fabric!

...When the zombies rise up!

I lost about 1/4 of a fingernail to this wallet at the last minute!  I tried not to bleed on it, but now that I think of it, it would have been an interesting addition, oh well!

9  I think I'm getting the hang of this digitizing thing! in Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects by Daneisha on: June 19, 2010 09:14:32 AM
I've been wanting to learn to digitize for over a year now and last week I decided to do something about it.  I downloaded the Stitch Era software (free!) and got to work.  As you can see I've done only simple designs, so it wasn't too hard to do.

There's more where that came from, but it takes too long to upload lol

10  Get ready to be bombarded with cuteness!!! (lots o' bibs) in Machine Embroidery: Completed Projects by Daneisha on: May 25, 2010 06:27:43 PM
My son had only had one ugly bib that I found at my gramma's house and that just wouldn't do.  So yesterday I was mad at the hubs so I needed some craft therapy. I just cut up anything I could find that wasn't being used:  2 blankets, an old polo shirt, a baby sleeper gown that is to hot to wear these days and will probably be too small when it gets cold again.  But the green towel, I bought just to cut it up! anyways this is what happened...
