21  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / This bag brought to you by the letter "D"... on: April 28, 2006 03:11:19 PM
I did this to enter in the spring bag challenge...It came out smaller then I wanted so I'm giving it to my handbag obsessed 12 year old cousin Becca who's visiting in June (she live in AZ, I live in CT, so this calls for a present, lol)

I was a little suprised to find out that the cabling was a snap (it was my first try cabling), the hardest part of the bag was finding handles to fit it.  Finally my sister saw these "D" cutouts and said, "Hey, look, handles!"  She's brilliant.  Then my boyfriend's father, stained, varnished AND waxed them.  So here it is, the "D" bag:

Please excuse my absolutely horrid handsewing skills on the liner.
22  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Ack! I have problems! on: April 13, 2006 05:16:27 PM
Lol, ok this is my first post here and already i'm begging for help.  Roll Eyes

So I started making the Shocking Pink Coif (but in blue) from Knitty and all's going well except I did the m1 the wrong way and I have these holes.  Now I don't mind these holes, in fact I like them.  There lies the problem, instead of ripping it out when I realized my mistake I said "Oh well I like it this way."  Always the deviant.  Anyhow now I'm not sure how to make the decrease side match, my logic tells me if I just k2tog i'm not going to get holes.  So how do I make it match?  Oh and here's a pic:

P.S. This was taken a half hour ago and I just couldn't put it down so I'm even farther along now, I'm at the point where I'm supposed to decrease.  Eek! why do I make things more complicated then need be? lol.
