11  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / Vampire themed goodies, plus extra on: August 24, 2007 11:11:58 AM
This is what I recently sent to superhooker for Altoid Swap 7.  It's the most advanced I've gotten for actually sculpting little things so I wanted to  post in on the polymer clay board.

This is the top of the tin, her theme was vampires:

And I made here a themed charm bracelet with 4 polymer charms and garnet beads in between.  The charms are a bat, chalice with blood, coffin and head of garlic.

She also likes hello kitty and chococat so I included two pins (btw, the whiskers are made of wire, painted black):

These were alot of fun, thinking of making more themed charm bracelets.
12  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / Modified Zeeby... on: March 04, 2007 06:35:40 AM
The Zeeby bag I was making seemed too large so I reduced the amount of stitches and needle size...I can't remember to what....I wrote it somewhere in this messy room.  This was for my swap partner in the HP House swap, she's a Gryffindor (yeah, duh, I know)

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Bones? on: February 11, 2007 06:53:47 AM
I'd like to make a dog bed for my pug and was wondering if anyone knew of some free intarsia charts for paws and bones.  I think vogue's pet knits book has a doggy bed with bones but I was wondering if there was a free resource anyone knows of.
14  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Wine Cozy from Knitty on: February 05, 2007 04:22:37 PM
I went to a suprise party for the 50th birthday of a co-worker and she loves wine...she also has been watching me knit and i could kind of tell...that she just didn't want to say anything but really wanted me to make her something, lol.  When she opened it, she was like "I was hoping you'd make me something eventually!  I'm always seeing you knit stuff!"  So cute.  Oh and she's a huge wine drinker so this just was the perfect project

The red base is lionbrand woolease in cranberry, the leaves are also woolease...some green color, can't remember and the purple is paton's wool.

Oh, if anyone wants the pattern it's right here: http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEwinter04/PATTwinecozy.html
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / flowery pillow cover on: January 24, 2007 04:27:05 AM
I did a personal swap with CharlieBrown and after stalking her a bit (and knitting ALOT) I came up with this:

She received yesterday and loves it!
16  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / USB drive turned into sushi on: December 29, 2006 06:06:31 PM
I used three colors of sculpey to make this: Just orange, transclucent and pure white.  It's coated with sculpey glaze and the usb drive is secured with hot glue.

Quick footnote.  I got the idea from sushi drives I saw online that were going for $99, I made mine for about $24, including price of drive...excluding price of white sculpey which I already had.
17  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / Puggy Pirate Wench! on: June 10, 2006 12:57:08 PM
I posted about suggestions for this costume a month ago.  I decided to knit a corset and attach a tutu.....it had it's rough moments but finally I got Duchess to keep it on...sort of.  She didn't win the contest (a store bought costume won, boo, hissss!)  but oh well, she had fun!

18  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / quick scarf poll, how long is long enough? on: May 19, 2006 07:41:09 AM
Ok I know this is subjective and up to invidual tastes but this is a secret gift for youngest sister's bday in november so I can't ask what length she'd like.  My other sister keeps saying that the irish hiking scarf I'm making is long enough.  When wrapped around the neck it only comes down to half chest legnth and it's actually a bit on the skinnier side.  Besdies that the sister I'm making it for isn't into fringe.  She likes the bohemian skirt look and wearing layers and ballet flats so I have a feeling for that kind of style longer is better.  The sister giving me unasked for advice is into classic and clean, so I think I need to tune her out.  Thoughts?

So the poll is do you personally prefer shorter or longer on a scarf?
19  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for a stitch... on: May 07, 2006 03:04:23 PM
I want to make a poncho that looks kinda like a fishing net...I think It'd make a good swimsuit cover up...so what's a good stitch for that?  I want something more open then the typical "mesh"  Any links?
20  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Pug costume from Princess to Pirate - Need Suggestions!!! on: May 06, 2006 01:26:43 PM
Ok here's the story.  My town has an island that is rumored to be one of the many place Captain Kidd may have burried his treasure.  It's called Charles Island.  This year we're having our first annual treasure hunt.  One of the activities of this all day event is the "Saltiest Dog Contest".  So of course I need to enter my pug Duchess in this.  We have a princess costume from halloween that I've been allowed to do whatever I want to.  So how would one go about dying this horrendous pink dress?  Also I'd like suggestion for colors (we're leaning toward purple)  I'm also going to try to add a faux corset type thing on the upper half....it's gonna be a challenge....suggestions are welcome.  Here's some pics to give you an idea of what I'm starting with:
