1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Beardman on: August 27, 2009 11:16:58 PM
My most recent embroidery.

Let me present to you... Beardman

I did this freehand, while referencing a similar doodle I did at work the other day.

As always, the frame is a faux wood rubber frame from Michael's.

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / freehand embroidery wedding gift on: July 20, 2009 06:25:35 PM
I did this embroidery freehand as a gift for some friends of mine who got married on the fourth of July.

It is about 5 inches in diameter, and I made the embroidery in that frame (it is rubbery fake wood from Michael's).

3  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Owl Sleep Mask and 2 Scarves on: January 24, 2009 10:16:56 PM
I am exchanging holiday gifts this week (the beginning of 2nd semester) with my college friends, as I was too busy during finals to figure out gift giving.

My one friend loves owls and sleep masks and I just so happened to stumble upon this tutorial http://littlegreen.typepad.com/romansock/tutorial-owl-eye-mask.html.  I ended up adjusting the pattern, but the basic idea is the same.

Scarf 1:
I made up this pattern for a short pull through scarf.

Scarf 2:
Another pattern I made up as I went along. I wanted to make a really textural scarf and the pattern emerged as I figured out which yarns were easiest to crochet into one another.

These are my first crochet projects in years. I learned to crochet as a child but haven't really made anything since.  Comments and criticism is much appreciated!
