41  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fish-cushion! on: July 04, 2006 11:45:34 PM
I was thoroughly inspired by the pincushion swaps going on around these here parts so I decided to make my own.  Dig my fish-cushion:

His little button eyes are my favorite part!  Cheesy
42  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Stenciling: Completed Projects / 2 Layer Cutie on: July 01, 2006 09:37:59 PM
I did this stencil a few weeks ago. It was pretty much the first one I've ever done. It's nothing special, but I think it turned out pretty cute.

43  CLOTHING / Shoes: Completed Projects / Self Potrait Pumps on: July 01, 2006 09:17:25 PM
I tried to post this in the shoes board, but it wouldn't let me. There wasn't an option to post a new topic...it was odd. So here you go, these are some pumps that my mom was throwing away that I spiced up a bit.
It's a little self portait done in acrylic (yeah it will scratch off, but I'm looking for something to put over it to protect it).

Here's a close-up...the shoe isn't as wonky as it looks in that picture.
44  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Cable Knit Clutch with Ball Clasp (now with tute on page 2!) on: June 23, 2006 07:04:09 PM
I originally bought this yarn to make a shrug but found the pattern too miserable to follow... I ripped it out and began to make this little clutch. I had a little inspiration from this thread but wanted mine to be a little more luxurious. I made the pattern up on my own and could try to post a tutorial if anyone's interested. I haven't lined it yet due to my lack of fabric, but that'll come within the next few days.

This picture shows the shape a little better.

And here's another just for size reference (and I love this bag so I wanted to take a million pictures!)

Enjoy!

EDIT: *TUTORIAL ON PAGE 2, SUITABLE FOR BEGINNER KNITTERS!*
This is actually a really good project to learn cable knitting on. It's easy, knits up quick, and looks a lot more impressive than it is!
45  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / A site for inspiration? on: June 22, 2006 10:19:44 PM
I was just googling some things and I came upon this site: http://home.sprynet.com/~nrobinson/ I figured some of you gals (and guys, respectively) might dig some of the things this lady makes. Check them out, they're pretty cute.
46  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / [BLOCKING] on: June 19, 2006 07:03:21 PM
I have never blocked a single item I have ever knit EVER and, thus, am totally ignorant. I understand you wet it and lay it out flat in the shape you'd like it to be in, but does this only work for natural fibers? I'm knitting something out of acrylic right now and it's shape thus far is bothering me. I'm just wondering...will this "blocking" thing straighten it out?

Thanks <3
47  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Colorful Raggedy Scrap Scarf! (IMG HEAVY) on: June 14, 2006 07:45:51 PM
This is a scarf I made a few months ago out of hundreds and hundreds of strips of scrap fabric. I just tied the strips together, making for a very raggedy look, and knit it entirely in garter stitch. This is one of the more gratifying (and mind-numbingly simple) things that I've knit. It has little bits of metallic fabric through it randomly to add some glitz.   Cheesy

The scarf in its entirety.

...And modeled by yours truly with a cool flower pin.

I really hope you guys dig it as much as I do!
48  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / 11/18/79! Oh my, VINTAGE! on: June 14, 2006 01:16:02 PM
I got some delicious new yarn from my now ex-fiber arts teacher. It's 100% virgin wool and it's dated November 18, 1979. Oh my, I AM EXCITED!!! Ha. I don't have anything in particular in mind for it yet, but I want to use it so bady...I was wondering what kind of ideas this wool conjures up for you guys. I only got one hank of it which I dutifully wound into a tight ball, so it's pretty dense. What kind of wonderful little project could I knit up with this? I was thinking about making a little clutch, or something. Replies with pictures are especially welcome!

This gives you an idea of how much I'm working with, and the color. It's more greeny in real life. It's shown next to my sunglasses because they match Wink.

49  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / sexy silhouette change purse (now with better pics and silhouette!) on: June 13, 2006 11:47:50 PM
I made this for a friend of mine.
*EDIT*
These are two pictures that turned out better as far as focus and color than the previous 2 I had up. Also, here's the silhouette I used to make the applique type deal:

Enjoy!<3
50  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / COMPLETELY CLEAR! no crap on it... on: June 13, 2006 11:06:50 AM
Does anybody know where I can purchase a clear vinyl shower curtain? Preferably one with little to nothing on it? I haven't searched online yet, but I figured I could get some good tips on here before I start. Thanks, guys.
