31  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Bear Elegance... on: September 06, 2006 11:01:11 AM
Hahahahaha! Man that was a lame subject line...

Lately I have a vague obsession with bears and last night around 1 in the morning I was compelled to sew myself a nice little bear-shaped pincushion.

Here it is in all its glory:

I do believe it needs a name...
32  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / 3-Day Beach Bag! [IMG HEAVY] on: August 18, 2006 11:25:29 AM
I'm leaving tomorrow night for my long-awaited South Carolina beach vacation and made this bag in preparation for it. It's the perfect size; big enough to fit all the typical beach-goer's necessities (sunglasses, sunscreen, and a rolled up towel) but small enough to be convenient and easy to carry. I designed the bag myself and used a simple drop stitch pattern to make it extra stretchy and meshy.

The drop stitch row made the perfect eyelets for stringing ribbon through...I think it gives the bag a lot more character.

This gives a better idea of the bag's size...sorry about the sort of butt shot, I took the pictures last night and I was in my jammies.

You guys have no idea how proud of this bag I am! Hope you like it! <3
33  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Beach bag lament... on: August 15, 2006 09:17:23 AM
This Saturday (the 19th) I'm gonna be leaving close to midnight for my beach vacation a la South Carolina. It occurred to me that I've spent so much of my time wishing the days away for this trip that I have completely ignored my duty as a knitter to create a one of a kind beach bag. Can you guys help me? I suppose what I'm asking is, do any of you know of any free patterns for beach-type bags online that knit up quickly? I'd preferably like a meshy sort of bag with enough stretch to accomodate a rolled up towel, sunglasses, a bottle of water, and perhaps some tanning lotion.  I'd like to start it ASAP and I have until this Saturday to finish it. I'm a pretty quick knitter so it shouldn't be much of a problem if I really apply myself.

Thanks you guys!! And because I hate reading posts without pictures:

Teeny baby snakes that were in my yard!
34  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / William Goat. on: August 11, 2006 01:29:09 AM
This is William Goat. He was created this evening.
As you can see he's a particularly handsome model.

William Goat can indeed fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.

 Indeed.
35  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / OH DEAR LORD PIG on: August 01, 2006 11:36:24 PM
I DON'T KNOW HOW MANY HOURS THIS TOOK. It is seriously 2:34 in the morning and I JUST finished this. I had this sudden, almost painful, inspiration to make a little teeny pig. And I'll tell you what, it was totally worth all the tedious pattern making and cutting and sewing and stuffing. Lookit muh piggy!!

Here he stands reigning over his tiny altoid empire...he's totally diggin' it.

Peeigggg Facccceeee!!!

Yes. Yes, he indeed does have a curly pig tail. I am seriously crazy.

Now I am going to promptly head to the bathroom where I will brush my teeth and then I will pass out in my bed...knowing that I made a little pig that is totally satisfied with life. He's a happy pig, indeed.
36  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / odd cards for odd kids... on: July 28, 2006 05:39:47 PM
This post is QUITE late but I felt it'd be appreciated here...
These are some odd valentines I made for all of my friends at the beginning of this year. They're all shaped like buffalo (simply because I love them) and the images on the cards varied depending upon the person. I made quite a few but these were the only photos I could find:

This is a drawing of a chick with a split tongue for a friend who had a fascination with it...

Sexy lingerie wearing buffalo...for a lingerie obsessed chick. (notice the rhinestone eye)

And a Stalin/Red Square buffalo for a self-proclaimed communist chick.

Hope you guys like 'em!
37  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Domo-Kun & Bunny! on: July 28, 2006 05:25:50 PM
These are two cell phone holders I made for a couple of my friends last Christmas. I just found the pictures on my computer and decided they were cool enough to be posted on here. I sewed their undies by hand and they're removable!

Dig it:

By the way, Domo-Kun is actually more chocolatey brown in real life...the picture made the colors odd.
38  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Faux Leather Finish - a revamped dining room table! on: July 11, 2006 11:59:03 AM
Hey guys, this is a project that my mom did a few days ago but I promised her I'd post it here because she's so proud of it!

"Well, since it's been crappy weather I've been busy inside the house.  I refinished the dining room table to look like leather.  I took brown paper bags, Elmer's glue, polyurethane  and finishing nails... I think it's pretty cool!"

39  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / ...tiny taco. on: July 07, 2006 06:59:56 PM
This is the third pincushion I've sewn in 3 days. However, I guess I was burnt out while I made this because I'm not digging it too much now...
Tis a taco with guacamole, cheese, and sour cream. The little yellow corn tortilla is my favorite part.

40  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / (Pin)eapple Upside-down Cake! on: July 07, 2006 06:56:42 PM
I bought a LOAD of felt a few weeks ago and I have been a pincushion sewing MANIAC for the past 3 days. Here is my pineapple upside down cake cushion:

Hmm...bakery fresh?

Seriously...I am crazy.
