Well, Gina accompanied me to work today, it was a busy day so I put her in charge of answering the phone.

Before we knew it, it was already lunch time!


After lunch things started to slow down and we browsed craftser on company time, HAHA!


Gina pulled out her very first crochet project to show me, I was definitely jealous...I forgot my most recent knitting WIP at home


A few more hours dragged on and we packed up our stuff and headed home

This is a cake I made for my best friend's birthday last year, funny seeing another Stalin cake:

Okay...you wanna talk about MISLEADING?! I just ordered some Malabrigo wool and it arrived today...On the website the color appears as this:



A nice deep forest green...or so you'd ASSUME...

I absolutely adore the way this project turned out! I was perusing my new favorite LYS the other day when I happened upon the most luxurious yarn EVER. It's Malabrigo 100% merino wool, and it is softer than I can even express! The colorway is absolutely fantastic, it's a sort of coral-y peach and brownish-green variegated called Peachtree.

I was inspired by an old floppy sort-of-tam hat a friend of mine was wearing. It was a chemo hat that belonged to her aunt many years ago. After examining it for a few minutes I decided I could whip up my own version.  This is 100% my own pattern and it used one full skein of the Malabrigo wool (about 3.5oz).

I went a little nuts with photos because I'm so happy with how it turned out!


It's a pretty large hat (hence the title of the post). I wanted a hat that I could comfortably fit all of my hair in. It could definitely accomodate some medium-length dreads.


This photo doesn't do the colorway justice! When knit in the round it stripes in a cool spiral pattern.

Some of you might have seen the first monster I made here. He was, and still is, quite a charmer. To get him to settle down I crafted a monster love interest for him! Here she is:

I was inspired by tragicheroine's lovely iPod cozy, but didn't want the fair isle to be identical.
It took a while to chart a design that I thought was suitable, hope you all like it!

First I'd like to state that this is my first ever attempt at crochet and I am intensely proud of how it turned out! He's a wee batty monster!

Ladies, beware! Keep your stuffies locked away 'cuz he's a charmer! Even the fish-cushion couldn't resist him!

I am totally elated with spreadshirt's efficiency! I ordered my shirt on the 28th (of this month) and it came in the mail TODAY!!! I guess it has something to do with me living on the east coast but still...EFFICIENT!!!

Without further ado, here's my craftster spreadshirt:

I got the long sleeved shirt with the skull and knitting needles. On the front it reads in bright green (brighter than the picture suggests) my username, how_german.
It's so cool, I chose the flock printing for my text and it's actually fuzzy!

I wear a US women's size 10 and I ordered a medium. It fits perfectly, not too baggy or too tight. 

So, it's been a long and particularly boring day. I was looking at the little friend of craftster icons and noticed that they'd be particularly easy to chart...so, without further ado, here they are:
