11  Re: Giant Rectangle Granny Square Afghan CAL in Crochetalongs by anneadeline on: September 23, 2007 12:25:37 PM
I'm starting my first afghan, and I just love this pattern!  I'm mainly a knitter, but this has seduced me into crochet.   Grin  Trying for random stripes and I like the effect.

The entire thing is in Caron Simply Soft because I had a whole bunch of it in these Halloween colors.  Since it is getting close to October, I figured this would be a good color palette.  Hopefully it will be done in time for Halloween. (Though it'll probably stay out all year long anyway.)

P.S. Love seeing all the other color combos for this afghan!

Lovely yarn everyone!

i might be allergic to the silk.. Angry Embarrassed Cry
*pets* I've never heard of anyone allergic to silk before. (At least you're unique!  Wink )
I love the melon-glo one!  So sparkley and...um... melon-y!

I finally have something to post.
"Toxic Frog" about 100 yards

"Forest Floor" 204 yards

They are both a little bit felted, but I realized that it is a cool effect.  So I'm saying it was on purpose.  These were part of a trade with someone on Etsy. (Trading for an awesome mask.  I'm so excited!)

I received from thetiniestspark today!  Thanks so much Jenny, everything was amazing and totally made my day.

First off, two necklaces and a bracelet.  A chocolate frog (yum), dragon, and a Ravenclaw crest.  I tried to get a close up but, well, it came out a little blurry.  Can't decide which one to where first.

The jewelry box (love the house crest on it, so cool) and the Diadem of Ravenclaw.  I am so going to wear this tomorrow to enhance my wisdom.

A tote bag with the Prisoner of Azkaban cover in six different languages.  All these covers are fun to look at the different art and it is my favorite book.

Magnets with different spells on them.  These are going onto the fridge or some other metal thing (locker?).  I may have to make myself some magnets in this manner to stick everywhere.

And a group shot including a stationary set for Harry Potter and some sticky notes.  I adore sticky notes.  And these are Harry Potter so wow!

I was having a totally bad day but now I'm in a good mood with all my new geekery.  Thanks so much, Jenny!

anneadeline - I am wondering where you got the graph for the bag?  I would love some more pictures of it, close ups and stuff.  It is a great bag.  thanks!
Glad you like it!  I got the chart from http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/charts/lionchart.htm
Here's two more pics for you-

The strap was crocheted and I lined it with the same fabric that the bag was lined in.

15  Gryffindor Bag - It's lined! in Knitting: Completed Projects by anneadeline on: August 17, 2007 08:40:48 PM
I knit this for The Everything Harry Potter Swap.  My partner has received so I can post this now.
Yarn: Woolease
Needles: US 7
Chart from http://www.knitting-and.com/knitting/patterns/charts/lionchart.htm

I wasn't sure it was going to turn out but after blocking - wow!
The bag is entirely lined, and I even added lining to the handle (which is crocheted for thickness).

Hope you like it!

16  Re: Favorite Animal Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by anneadeline on: August 01, 2007 02:03:14 PM
I just received from baby-bumblebee!  So much stuff and all so cool.  (My favorite animal was a pug/dogs)
The pictures:

A doggy picture frame that will shortly have a pic of my puggy in it and a paw print headband.  The paws are metallic looking!  Point protectors, a stencil (awesome letters!), a lollipop, paw stamp, a whole bunch of beads (more than what is in the bottle, which is so cool, I might add).  A dog hanger-thing I'm going to hang yarn on, and a pug key chain and zipper pulls.

Notebook with "Got Pug?" on it.  May soon be used for Calculus notes.  I love how it is bound at the top (no resting my hand on metal, yay!).

This gorgeous roving is so soft and the color is amazing, the picture just can't capture it.

Thanks again, baby-bumblebee!

17  Re: Tour de Fleece 2007 in Spinning: Completed Projects by anneadeline on: July 25, 2007 01:14:17 PM
This was spun from a batt I bought from hobbledehoy.  I've been spinning for more than a year and this was my first time spinning from a batt, can you believe it?

It was just so gorgeous that it took a week to convince myself to spin it. ("But it is so pretty, I don't want to ruin it!")

Swamp Magic, 164 yds, very spakley

I'm going to post what I sent to baby-bumblebee due to camera issues on her end.

First off are two stuffed kitties made with felt:

Next up, a drop spindle that I made and painted.  I also sent a bunch of different colored wool to go with it.

A penguin bag:

Lastly, a turtle hat (knit with felt patches sewn on to mimic a turtle shell)

So, I finally got around to getting pictures of my yarn.  These are my favorites:
Wildflowers, 296 yds.  I adore this!

Puking Rainbows, 60 yds.  I plied this back on itself and with thread.  My family thought this was a gross name, though I like it.  What do you think?

I just finished a snood (I'm obsessed with snoods!) with some handspun, I'll have to get a picture.

Lufah - You may not think that boucle looks cool, but I do!  Seriously, I like it.

I, like so many others, have been spinning for the Tour.  This is my not-done-yet yarn for this week:
*Ugly flash picture*  It looks much better in real life.  Trust me.

It's superwash and may become socks (if I can sit myself down long enough to knit some.  I've only ever finished one sock, never a pair)
