1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Nail Decals on: April 02, 2010 06:49:35 AM
Soo my mom used to own a nail business and she got me into nails. I was spring cleaning and found a bunch of sheets of nail decals. They're more like for little girls but I have a whole bunch of mixed ones. I'm not into my nails like before and I been lacking creative imagination lately  Embarrassed Soo my crafty folks, what the heck can I do with these?
2  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Pattern help please on: December 11, 2008 09:34:14 AM
Ok so I've been working on snowflakes. I'm pretty ok with just crocheting freely buut I've been trying to follow a pattern now. I understand the abbreviations I just don't know what to do with them lol. I been reading tons of websites on how to understand them so I learned how to do the round by round but on this pattern round 4 has really confused me. I think I followed the other rounds ok but mine isn't identical lol but it's ok =]
Here's the pattern: http://www.crochetsal.com/snowflake.html

Here's what I have so far:

On round 4 am I supposed to crochet in the round or what? This is the only round I need a translation for

Isn't that snowflake pattern adorable though?? Thanks in advance for whoever looks and/or helps!!  Grin
3  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / fabric closeouts in manhattan on: May 18, 2008 10:57:36 AM
I love closeout sales so I had to let others know. If you take the a/c to 34th st, as soon as you get out that street (I forgot either 33rd or 35th its behind Conways) there's quite a few fabric stores, well like half of them are closing out and I saw yards of fabric on sale for 50 to 99 cents a yard! Great deals! I don't know when the stores are closing but take advantage soonn Grin
4  New York / New York: NYC and Long Island / Best dollar stores? on: May 18, 2008 10:53:01 AM
I absolutely love dollar stores and I know that you can find some great craft supplies in some. Where's your best dollar store at?

There's one, I forgot the name  Angry, but if you take the r to northern blvd. (Queens) its right next to michaels. They have styrofoam, fake flowers, glass marbles, and other stuff.

Sometimes in CVS's dollar section, they have some cute beads, sequins, and other stuff so keep an eye out.

Anyone know anywhere else?
5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / packaging magnets?? on: May 16, 2008 10:25:15 AM
Well I have sets of those glass marble magnets that I would like to sell. I want to sell them in sets of 3/4, the only problem is I don't know how to package them. I'd like them on a flat index card (yes its cheap but you can do wonders) and I'd like to hand them vertically. Now should I glue the magnets onto the index card? How exactly can I attractively stick the magnets onto the index card without there being leftover glue or anything of the sort? And how can I package it if I don't have money for shrink wrap or plastic bags, kind of like a sandwich bag budget? Thanks for looking!
6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Shop on a different link? on: April 21, 2004 11:58:40 AM
I ask a lot of questions  Undecided but I just wanna learn. I'm making a new layout for my shop and I'm trying to cut down on the number of links/catagories on the main page. So I was thinking of putting the catagory shop and then the shop catagories will show then and not on the main page so it's more eye pleasing. Is that annoying or make it harder to navigate?
7  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / css effects = better? on: April 21, 2004 11:38:18 AM
Do you find that if you use CSS effects, like a link effect or a scrollbar to match the site layout, then sales are more successful?
