1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Some recent pretty cross-stitching! on: April 30, 2007 03:04:15 AM
Hi everybody Smiley

Here are a few recent cross-stitches I've done...
I don't think Ive posted in here before although I do quite a bit of cross-stitching.

Here are 2 letters I did for my sisters, "R" for Roisin & "J" for Jeanie

Yes, they still need ironing  Wink

Here's a mother's day card I did for my mum & a magnet. These designs were both from an old issue of "Cross-stitch world" or something like that  Huh

Um, the card looks kind of lopsided and yes the writing at the bottom sucks. But what can you do? Cheesy

Hope you liked them!

5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / My granny's 80th birthday... Very stuck on ideas! on: February 06, 2007 10:44:42 AM
Hello!  Cheesy

It's my granny's 8oth birthday in 2 weeks time! But as usual I'm totally stuck on what to make.

She's lived all her life in Ireland (in the country) and is religious. She has loads of grand kids (me including, duh Grin ) and she lives in a sheltered housing err... thingie.
She likes doing cross-words and reading, but she dosnt do much cooking or anything that demands to much energy.

Thanks for your help!

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Discussion and Questions / Help me out with my Girly Bedroom! =] on: January 28, 2007 04:01:43 AM
Hi all  Cheesy

This is basically my bedroom right now:
http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=90609.0

I would like to still keep it pink BUT also make it a bit more preppy (Laura Ashley'ish) and retro at the same time.
I love love this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=99705.0

I want to paint my walls light pink, but I don't know if it would look okay? Should I just paint two white and two pink?

Thanks for looking!
7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Covering a photo frame using the napkin technique? on: December 10, 2006 06:14:51 AM
Hi everybody

For christmas I'm going to cover lots of photo frames using the napkin technique (sp).
I'm just wondering what would be the best way to do this. I have a spray can of glue that also glues on glossy so it gives it a finished look  Wink

Should I measure out the picture frame on the napkin and cut it out then cut a gap out for the picture bit and then glue it or what?  Undecided

Anyway thanks everybody for looking.
8  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Need ideas for my dad, my sister and one of my friends! on: December 03, 2006 10:24:57 AM
Hiya

I need ideas for what to give people for christmas!

My dad- He's a journalist, loves cricket, beer (he's no alcoholic though Roll Eyes ) , running... And european politics. He's got a good sense of humour too!

My sister- she's 16, and she her style is kind of classic indie (ish). She likes shopping, clothes and clothes, and I'm really at a loss for what to make her!

And one of my friends- She is addicted to fruits basket (Japanese cartoon), little trinkets, cute quotes...

If any of you could help me that would be great!
I can knit (but not very well- I can't do cables and things like that) and sew (clothes and bags as well as embroidery). I can also do other crafts like scrapbooking, ATC's ect.

Thanks again.
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Looking for 2 patterns (Pic inside) on: September 27, 2006 10:46:51 AM
Hi everybody  Cheesy

I'm looking for the pattern for this bag

And also for a pattern for a big bag that could be used as a dance bag for myself. I'm relatively new to knitting so please no extra hard ones.

Thanks!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / A Baby hat and a question! on: September 04, 2006 06:17:00 AM
Hi everybody

I knitted this up in a day (Im so proud  Cheesy ) its a baby hat knitted on 5mm needles. The yarn gradually changes colour and its really soft. I added a tassle.

La question:
At the top of the hat there are some little holes. I casted off like the stitch and bitch book told me to (I forgot the name of the casting off and i dont have my book with me right now) but basically you knit 2 stitches together. Is this normal? Or am I doing something wrong?

This is my 3rd knitting project I've done and my first hat.

Thanks for reading my post
