They're so cool!  I could sit for hours playing with them.  Lol.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Matchbox Necklace on: May 06, 2006 06:00:17 PM
Hi everyone!

This necklace was inspired by asmileforsin's post:http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=85907.0

I poked a hole in the top of the matchbox and made a loop for the chain with an eye hook (I think that's what it's called. I'm not sure.)

The words are: Collection, One of a Kind, grace and creativity, paris, Latte, and the letters NY.  I cut them out from an issue of Vogue.

I'm thinking about adding images/drawings to the sides of the matchbox, but I haven't decided yet.

That's so cute!  Where did you find the owl and deer?
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Crocheted Necklace on: May 02, 2006 06:03:54 PM
Hi everyone!

I made this necklace earlier today.  I  used thread, a crochet needle, and after every 7 stitches, I threaded on a bead and continued crocheting.

And a close-up:

What do you think?

^ I'm like that too.  I think you could put a piece of cardboard on the spine and along the sides to reinforce it.  Or make it out of a bigger book.
6  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / Three stranded earring on: April 20, 2006 12:43:30 PM
Yep, just one.  I used 32 mm wire, which I didn't realize was so thin when I bought it.  It took me about half an hour to make this one, and just as I started stringing the second earring, the wire broke.  Oh well.  I'll make the other half later.  I used green beads and alternated between dark and light green.

Thanks everyone!  I'm going to check the local craft stores to see if they offer a class.  And I picked up a couple magazines yesterday.  Thanks again.  Smiley
8  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Black Button Book Purse on: April 16, 2006 07:09:49 PM

I just finished making this purse today.  It's made from an old literature book, painted black, and some fabric and ribbons.  I superglued the lining to the book, but I doubt it'll stay for long.  It's not very practical because it doesn't hold too much, but it was a good learning experience.

Here's the outside with the buttons:

And the inside:

Sorry about the picture quality... I used my cell phone to take theh photo.
