1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: ISO Custom Made Wedding dress on: March 07, 2009 05:27:10 PM
I dig what you're saying.  My issue is i want a red wedding dress, while not as popular as white, it is becoming more common.  My vision includes more of a tea length 50's-so almost more of a formal retro dress thingy than a wedding dress.  That's why i'm intimidated about looking at off the rack dresses, i just don't believe what i want will be available since i'm not really looking for a wedding dress, wedding dress =)

I'm not sure if i can post this here...but what the heck, I need to reach out to my crafty neighbors.
I'm looking for a SE Michigan Seamstress to help me by creating a custom wedding dress.  Any suggestions would be great.  I was thinking about approaching local colleges with fashion curriculum, but don't know of any off hand.  I checked the Novi Art Institute and they just cover merchandise and management.
Thanks for any help you might be able to give!

5  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Pattern Help! Luche Libre on: February 23, 2009 12:44:22 AM
I've made it to line 4 where it says

Working both sides at the same time, purl.

I don't understand what it means "working both sides at the same time", and because i'm doing intarsia my MC is on the other side of my bind off with no obvious way to carry it over to the other side-I don't actually cast on more stitches for the top of the mouth until row 5.
I'm confused.  If you can help, i wouls appreciate it.  For those who are confused or who have not seen the book yet, this is from the son of a SNB book, it's a full knitted face mask to look like a wrestling mask.
6  KNITTING / Projects from the Stitch 'N B**ch Books by Debbie Stoller / lucha libre question on: February 08, 2009 02:00:21 PM
i so want to make this on my flight next week, but......i don't know how to crochet at all.  How difficult is it going to be to do the little crotcheting this pattern calls for and does it really have to be done?  Can i just leave it unfinished?  Anyone try this yet?
Thanks!

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Penelope the movie scarf pattern on: May 16, 2008 02:29:18 PM
OK I really really want to make the scarf from penelope-with christina ricci.  I can't find a pattern to work with to save my life.
I found this one:
http://www.elitistcritic.com/penelope_scarf_pattern.htm
but the font is all freaky and cuts stuff out-and really do you think this scarf was made entrelac?  That would be a pain, i was a stitch.  Any suggestions?  Anyone make up there own they are willing to share?  Any of you pattern geniuses, who can make a pattern from a photograph recognize a possible stitch that would work?  BTW you guys are amazing!
Thanks for the help!
