1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / US Crafter Selling in Canada on: October 13, 2009 11:41:58 AM
I will be attending my first craft show in Canada.  Does anyone have any advice for selling over borders?  The one thing I was told to do was to ship my goods ahead of time to avoid customs.  Is there anything else we should know, such as excepting credit cards or checks in CAN dollars?

Any advice would be most helpful.  Thank you so much for your time!

5  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Crafty Business Discussion / Consignment and Sales Tax? on: October 28, 2005 09:16:03 AM
I just started selling through a couple of consignment stores.  I usually pay quarterly sales tax, do I need to pay sales tax on items that I sell at a consignment shop?

Thanks for your help!

6  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Tips for Participating in Craft Fairs / How do I stand out at a craft fair? on: October 05, 2005 09:40:31 PM
Hi,

I sew handbags and I'm going to be participating in my first craft fair this November.  I was told that there was going to be a lot of other handbag designers there.  Do you have any advice or tips on things I could do to stand out or draw people to my table?  Do you have any reccommendations on ways to display my work?
Thanks so much for your help.

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Making a bag with a Zipper... on: September 03, 2004 07:05:55 AM
I've checked out several sites regarding the technique of sewing a zipper, but none of them have applied to me.

I'm trying to make a small clutch purse with a zipper closure and with a liner on the inside.  I'm trying to find an easier way to do this but have not succeeded.  Most of my final results look rather sloppy (the stitching around the zipper in particular).  Does anyone have any tips?

Thanks!
