I am kinda sad now my swap part of this is over...I guess nothing to do but wait for round three 

I had a prefab, Walmarty, black student desk. I hated it, it depressed me to even sit at it but I wanted a REAL desk, with storage and coolness and something that would say MINE. I do have a keyboard but I dont want it in my lap..I have wireless for a reason, I just wanted a normal desk.

I found this beauty at a local thrift store...Seven dollars for desk and chair.



It had great drawers, dovetailed..nifty paper clip thingies in the middle drawer..



Chair had cracked/stained vinyl but was sturdy and well made.

My MIL wanted me to strip and refinish it with stain but it had veneer on it that was cracking and peeling. So I decided to paint it..with spray paint. She about fainted.

But with the trusty Home Depot gift card we had molding in Husband's wallet, I bought new brass pulls and some spray paint. I also scored some really nice dark brown "tooled" vinyl to redo the chair and ...



It looks very bright here but it truly isn't hideous 

I love it, all the drawers I need for bits and bobs, awesome color, nice brass pulls and a BIG surface area for writing and crafting. LOVE IT!

First time posting a project here..I was always too intimidated to post anything I had done seeing all the talented people to post but then I thought, How can I get better if I don't try? Seeing as I work as a family advocate for low income parents, it was time to practice what I preach...MOVING ON!

I have always struggled with stringing seed beads (I have meaty paws) and making wrapped loops. I realize it is something that will come with practice but apparently that was OK for some people but not for me! Well this weekend I got my haircut short (and I mean short, like between a pixie and a crew cut! Trying to grow out color) so I thought I would make myself some nice earrings.


Here goes!



This was trying to get the loops on...Thankfully the crimps that would NOT work with me will be hidden! LOVE CONES...

I had these glass seed beads forever and just could not part with them during the Bead Soup swap...I never used them and I literally had this tube for 2 years plus because I loved the color..sort of a faded denim color. (forgive my camera)
