1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / penguin pair on: February 17, 2011 05:34:33 PM
Hi there!

I finished this pair just in time for Valentine's Day and was really excited to share them with everyone!  Grin These two are by far the most detailed lampworking creations I've ever made! I just love how their eyes came out...

2  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / fresh paint on: December 28, 2009 06:16:15 PM

wa-la!  Cheesy At first this looked like the painting below...it was okay, but I wasn't really feeling it so I never displayed it anywhere. So I slapped on so fresh paint and came up with the picture above! I like it a lot more...I plan to hang it in my friend's apartment where they have a purple living room theme going on. The paint is a lot more sparkly/metalic depending how the light hits it. Thanks for looking!
3  POTTERY, CERAMICS, POLYMER CLAY / Polymer Clay: Completed Projects / magnets for all! on: December 14, 2009 04:14:36 PM
I have made some of the most amazing friends this quarter and I wanted to make something personal for their Christmas present so I came up with these magnets!

For my friend from Hawaii (spam musubi and pineapple)

For my friend who loves strawberries and cats

For the aerospace major and chronic cookie muncher

For the rock climbing partner in crime who was a river rafting guide this summer

Close ups because I love this magnet so much

And for the professor who does research with avocados and hates squirrels who steals them!

I gave them their magnets already and they all loved them! One was even inspired to try using some polymer clay for the first time to make some presents for her family!
Happy Holidays!  Grin
4  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / nature woodsy inspired pmc collection! on: July 23, 2009 07:04:31 PM
Hi everybody!

I bought some pmc online and had to try it out! For some scale the little slab of wood is about 2 inches in diameter.

Fig leaf:

Key (cheaper than buying one from Tiffany's!)

Tiny happy accident (reminds me of a peach):

My absolute favorite:

5  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / one flamboyant bird! on: May 11, 2009 05:30:43 PM
Hi all!

I decided to take advantage of all the new color rods I bought last weekend and test them out on this guy! Ironically I wanted to see what color some of the rods would be since out of the flame some look the same...so I used a different color for each feather, but of course I don't remember what order I used them!  Roll Eyes Oh, well...I still love him to death! This is by far the most involved piece I've ever done. Thanks for looking!  Grin

In all his glory...he even has a Cindy Crawford bubble by his beak!

Side view...

Tail! I paid special attention to melting all the colors together at the base so I wouldn't have any tragedies!
6  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / elephanties! ***UPDATED*** on: May 07, 2009 07:46:11 PM
Hi all!

Last weekend I started lampworking again for the first time in over a year (after a $20 investment in glass)! And I am relieved to say that I still got it (after a few haphazard projects that I may need to melt down this weekend)!  Cheesy I love these little guys to death. So much so that I think I may have to make a couple more before I can dare to part with any of them. My friend has a real liking towards elephants....and I said I would do something elephanty for her...the intention was to give her one of these two....but I can' t part with either of them! Don't they look so happy together? Smiley Maybe I can give her the 7th or 8th future one. haha...anyway...
picture time!

and here's a shot of one of the little guy's tail.

Thank you for looking!

***UPDATE***
5.12.09
I believe we have a winner! After four elephants, I have one I can give to my dear friend!  Smiley Here's the herd all together: (I'm giving my friend the blue one.)

Thank you to everyone who voted for these guys to be a featured project! I've never received such an honor and really appreciate it! Cheesy
7  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / colorful feats! on: May 04, 2009 07:43:11 AM
Hello there!

I wanted to share some of my latest artwork with everyone...

the first one was a cover up to a previous painting I did and was not really happy about it so a more rough impressionist style was in order.  Wink This currently hangs in my living room. It's a great way to cover up the flat screen plasma TV mount we have on the wall!

This one was inspired after going on my first vineyard tour! The place was so breath takingly beautiful. <3

Thanks for looking!  Grin
8  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Bud Break on: May 02, 2009 10:51:50 PM
Hi everyone!

Ever since I had my first cup of coffee a week ago, I've had quite a creative momentum carrying me. Between a mix of studying for a botany class and a need to do something creative this arose...

It starts off with a bud break in the corner and there's a whole C fixing, ripening, swirl of reactions going on that ultimately results in the purplish berry in the opposite corner!  Grin hehe...hope you enjoyed it.

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / yo-yo ripoff! :D on: April 03, 2009 09:35:05 AM
It started off with a simple white gathered tank top from Old Navy...

And ended with this! I saw a super expensive version of this on Fred Flare that inspired me. I'm quite proud...it's the most store bought looking thing I've ever made!  Grin

The lighting on these are unintentionally dramatic looking...(that's what I get for taking pictures early in the morning)  Roll Eyes

10  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / vday with the roomies on: February 06, 2009 09:08:54 AM
Hi all!

I have 5 roommates...all whose status ranges from pretty serious relationship to never had a boyfriend, but I figured why make valentine's day only a matter of who is and isn't in a relationship? Some of them are kinda bitter about the holiday, but I'm hoping these little surprises will melt their hearts a little. (or at least raise it a couple degrees)  Grin

The one on the left is supposed to be "Super Fennel" even though he turned out to look like an onion (it's an inside joke) but his body is actually a pocket so I can stuff some chocolates in there. The lion is just a card...the heart opens up to say "happy valentine's day!"

And these are weaved heart pockets so I plan to fill them with some cellophane wrapped chocolates! (I don't currently have chocolates or cellophane...otherw ise I'd show you...)

Thanks for looking!
