11  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knitting while travelling on: November 26, 2008 11:08:36 AM
That's so unfortunate.  I get tired easily of knitting in the car, but I can do it if it's something mindless that I don't have to count or pay a lot of attention to.  I'm sorry - your traveling just got more boring Sad
12  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: boredom with knitting? on: November 26, 2008 11:07:07 AM
Totally.  I experience burn-out annually after Christmas is over and anything I've started before that period just sits there.  I knit a ton for Christmas and can't bring myself to do anymore for a few months.  I started a sock last year before Christmas that I just finished this month.  I feel you.

That's not correct.  I haven't received yet.
15  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: First Married Christmas Gift Ideas? on: November 24, 2008 12:17:06 PM
Wow, you guys all have great ideas!

I am knitting us stockings this year - and yes, we will be filling each others' stockings - and each year that we've been together we've made a special trip of going to pick out one new ornament together.  We have already decorated, together, and had a really good time.  I may do the small book idea, but probably will make some sort of ornament that ties into our wedding.  Thanks for all of the ideas!  I'd love to hear more, if anyone's got 'em Smiley

Oh, and we got married the 23rd.  Congrats to you other August brides!! Cheesy
16  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / First Married Christmas Gift Ideas? on: November 23, 2008 09:07:20 AM
My husband and I got married in August, and this will be our first Christmas as Mr. and Mrs.  Does anyone have any ideas of special memento type things I could make to commemorate our first Christmas after getting married for us to keep and be able to show our kids one day?
17  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Re: Metalopoly! The Metalocalypse Board Game on: November 22, 2008 01:24:28 PM
I have to tell you, as a superhuge fan of Metalocalypse, this is AWESOME.  My husband and I would play it... all the time.  Do you still have the files for the cards and properties?  If so, would you be willing to share?

19  COOKING / Vegetarian / Vegan / Re: Veggie Thanksgiving and Family Issues on: November 19, 2008 04:54:57 PM
If they want to cook and bring it themselves, why do you care?  It's great that you've found something you want to do in eating a vegetarian diet, but you can't force that on others.  I think you're within your rights to refuse to cook meat, but again, if someone else is cooking and bringing (and eating) it, I think that's a really good compromise.  You can't make your dad and his girlfriend eat vegetarian food if they don't want to.
20  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Quilt Backing - Help Me Choose! on: November 19, 2008 07:33:05 AM
Seconding the Jane fabric - I think the orange background would be too much, and I like how the Jane fabric picks up colors used in the rest of the quilt.
