1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Discussion and Questions / Ironing Cross-stitch? on: June 05, 2009 07:58:34 AM
I stitched a cross-stitch pattern (made-up as I went along, not following an existing one) and didn't use a hoop or anything. I also folded the fabric for transportation.
Now I want the piece to be smooth. Can I iron the fabric and get a good result? I probably don't want to touch the thread, right?

I'm glad you like the package I sent, Joel Smiley And thanks to everyone else too.
If you want it, here's where I got the bike chart: http://stringtheories.files.wordpress.com/2007/06/bike-chart.pdf

I received my package from boywonder today!

A bike-stenciled tote, and 7 1" pinback buttons. One of the things I asked for was a stenciled tote, and I always love having more 1" buttons Smiley

4 gorgeous bike illustration cards. I think they might be my favourite part of the package.

Magnets, bike reflectors, and a piece of art. Yay for mountain bikes!

Stickers and adress labels abound (with my address blocked out by stars Smiley, and the containers they came in. The green one I will probably use to put my subway card and tickets in, and the red one gave me a pleasant whiff of bubble gum  Cheesy

All in all, this package was awesome and made my day  Grin
Thank you so much Joel!

Here is the great package I received from AsphaltQueen:

A felt bead kit, which is what she originally claimed me for. Can't wait to use it Cheesy

Mmmmm yarnnnnn....there's wool silk blend, alpaca, bulky wool, and recycled sari!

The surprise - a mixed-paper floppy disc notepad, for the inner geek in all of us Smiley And a card she drew, similar to one on my wists - a tree of hearts.

Thank you so much, I love it all!

I'm a 15 year-old in Toronto, and a full-time high school student. Crochet is my main craft Smiley
Colours I like: Black and white combo, green, orange-red, bright purple
Artistically, I like bold and graphic with bright colours. My own style is simple and also kind of sporty; I like clean lines. I like black and white, but punch it up pops of colour. I'm definitely not a floral-and-pinks type of girl. No pastels or neons either please. For more info check my swap info page (link in sig).

Thanks in advance!

I got some 1" buttons from CrossStitchinMomma today, and there was a pretty funny misunderstanding re: pinback buttons vs. buttons that fasten clothing.

Anyhoo, I still could always use the second type of buttons. So thanks Smiley

WOAH.  That so makes me wish I could knit more than squares and rectangles.  It's gorgeous!

It's crochet (I'm 95% sure) - hookers unite  Grin

On another note, I got my cardstock and envelopes from CrossStitchinMomma today - no pics, but these will be very useful for Christmas cards. Thank you!
