1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Wedding dress DIY : making your own on: April 08, 2009 08:59:56 AM
I made my own wedding dress about 4 years ago.  If you are thinking of doing it, start now!  I made 4 mock-ups plus the final dress (over the course of 4 months). The dress was not perfect, but did come out nicely, and it was even done about 1 week before the wedding date.  I was also doing just about everything else myself too, like the rings, flowers, invites, etc. so it was a busy time, but I loved every minute!
2  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Re: Beat the COLD and make some new friends! Now planning next date! on: February 04, 2009 09:57:53 AM
I was thinking we could have a standing date on the last day of every month.  Having a recurring meeting works better for those of us who have to plan things out in advance, and since it wouldn't always fall on a certain day of the week, it gives everybody a chance to participate.  The last day of the month would run into trouble in October and December, however.
3  UNITED STATES / Minnesota / Teaching opportunity in Mpls! on: January 28, 2009 12:03:13 PM
ArtiCulture, a non-profit arts organization in Minneapolis, is looking for teachers who want to teach jewelry or other crafts.  I have been teaching there for over 6 years and it is a great place.  If you are interested, check out their website at www.articulture.org and email the director, Liz.  Or you can contact me if you have questions.

Featuring the: 1st Annual "CLOTHESLINE SALE" Fundraiser (affordable 5x7 and 8x10 artworks), Family art activities, Art Demos, Wall of Wine Raffle

I will be doing a metal clay demo from 4 to 5.

Another thing that may be of interest is that ArtiCulture has a retail area where they want to sell LOCALLY MADE ART & CRAFTS.  If you want to get in on that, check out their website.  www.articulture.org. This area of Minneapolis is getting really arty and cool - check it out!!!

I saw a post asking how the pregnancy is going, so I will post here when she arrives.  I am due in 3 weeks.  I have made some crafty things for me and baby and hope to be able to do more posting when I am on maternity leave.

Thanks for asking!
