Just a note! I have been a bit incognito lately with the craftin' and socializin' so I am sorry if I missed some good get-togethers lately. I wanted to tell y'all about the Art of the Can show at the Weisman Museum, 7pm-12m, on Nov. 4th(it's a Saturday ). I don't know if there's an admission charge, but it will feature some of the things artists/crafters have made out of Red Bull cans...also, there will be movement installations, some of which will feature myself. : ) Also coming up, for maybe a fun(but not-so-cheap)thing to do is Bellydance Superstars, at the Pantages Theatre, the same weekend.I know I'd mentioned maybe getting dinner and seeing a local bellydancer perform sometime, let me know if this sounds fun and I'll check the schedule at the dance school.
I missed the sock monkey dresses, and I went yesterday!(so thanks for the pics). However, I did get to see some friends' seed art pictures(the Hamm's Bear and the Vincent Price),eat fried stuff and see butter sculptures.....there were some nice knitting displays too. We also saw Dave Pirner and family by the Co-ops booth. It was fun,but I always end up backpedaling on the food enthusiasm because it's too hard to eat it and avoid people at the same time.
Do you mean Spider Fighter?? We didn't stay for them, but saw the band before, I was kind of wondering why the lineup changed. Also, everyone was grousing about the $4 beer- but I figure it keeps the drinking down a bit? But, anyway....glad you saw something good! : )
Sounds good! I apologize, I did go to the Block Party for a few hours, but decided to go to the hot rod show(the Memory Lanes Mpls Messaround ) instead of Carpe Mammae! Did anyone go? The entertainment was great, if you like rockabilly/roots rock stuff. : ) Okay, so Sept 23? I'm marking it down, now...
Oops, I must not have been paying that much attention! : ) Frogging sweaters all day will do crazy things to your brain! I am actually sort of more jazzed to see the Spittin' Cobras, but I guess I can't make any excuses for that ! And, I suppose it's better late than never for the Carpe Mammae info, you may not think it's your cup of tea, but it's totally for a good cause:
Beautiful! I am working on flamenco-style hip wraps, myself..... I'm not into adding coins yet,so tassels, mesh and ribbons are really great ideas for add-ons. Other stuff you could try is crochet skull caps or fancy armlets!
Hey, if any of y'all are going to the Luce block party.....maybe we could meet up? I was thinking of going around 3-ish, since some of the band people playing then are some old co-workers of mine. (Spittin Cobras and Cardinal Sin). annnd... to add to all the crazy goings on for Saturday, I believe there's a rock/burlesque show benefit at First Avenue?(The one called "Carpe Mammae") it may be 21+ but also worth a look. I'll see if I can find the info and post it!
Aw, great!(sorry about not clarifying Montana...)Actually, September might be a great starting point for a knit nite (or day)as August is too soon and too crazy. We are in the middle of getting our expansion into the next space done, and aren't really open very late right now either. All the good stuff's supposed to be going down in Sept/October anyway- but I definitely will look into it more seriously now! So....Thursday not so good, Sunday nights there will be a church service so that's sorta out, too. Ps- thanks for the feedback, keep me posted, will ya?
