Gorgeous location! i'm so jelouse!

as for centerpieces... i love the sentimentality behind the beer cozies, but i honestly think the glass looks prettier.... so i guess it depends on what you're going for...

probably cuz they originate in new zealand...

they're lots of fun, and even more so when you get ones that you can set on fire.... probably wouldn't recommend that until you and/or your daughter have the sock one's down-pat though  Tongue

Sevs! your daughter need's rainbow sock poi!!

hippies love to play poi, and you can make them quite easily by stuffing a pair of ankle-socks with some rice, rolling them up, and then stuffing them in the ends of some long colourful stripy socks. www.homeofpoi.com for more info on poi and other fire-twirling disciplines.

I'll be newly married for christmas this year, wedding in october, so not only will i be pushed for time, but i'll be flat broke too...

winter christmases make life so easy, beanie-hats, scarves, mittens, quilts......

i'm buggered for what to make this year, i used up all my good ideas last year!

there's quite a bit of origami going on already, our centrepieces will be bonsai trees decorated with origami cherry blossoms so that's a good idea... i'd love lots of fairy lights, but the ceremony's going to be held at 11:00 in the morning, so they wouldn't end up being very effective i don't think.....

lots of great ideas so far, but do keep them coming, cuz i still don't have a complete vision of "oh my god thats it!" in my head.... i can see bits and pieces of all these ideas coming together, but there's just something missing.....
49  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Decorating a rotunda/gazebo thing: Crafty awesome ideas needed. on: June 04, 2009 12:37:00 AM

So, we've finally found a venue for our wedding that's within our price range and tastes!

we've hired a rotunda/gazebo thing in a pretty little park in one of the towns in our local wine region. So now i'm looking for ideas to decorate it that don't involve meters and meters of horrid tule and flowers, and i'm wondering if any of you wonderful ladies (or dudes, if you're around) have any ideas for me, cuz i'm fresh out.

I've posted a similar post on the OBBT and had some great replies on there, but just seeing what other ideas (if any) are out there!

Thanks in advance!

Foxie.

Yeah i'd probably go with some sort of shiny shimmery glittery fabric and then get some lights directed at it to make it sparkle...
