21  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / workplace Secret Santa, help! on: November 25, 2010 03:37:25 PM
ok, so we've got this secret santa thing going at work where you pull a name out of the hat (or envelope as it were) and you gotta get that person a little gift. we've put a limit of $10 on it, cuz alot of our staff are highschool kids.

so the person i got is a 16ish-year-old guy, (i'm a 26 year old chicky) who loves gaming, computers, and retro nintendo type stuff... considering that's my thing too, you'd think it wouldn't be a problem! but i can't think of anything to make/buy under $10. i thought of a nes controller belt buckle, but do you think i can find a nes controller for less than $20!?

any idea's would be greatly appreciated.

i can pretty much make anything, but i can't knit or crochet.

Thanks Guys!

yeah i like the handles too, i've seen them on alot of bags, and didn't really like them... but when i saw the other record bags on here, i suddenly just thought they'd be perfect for it :-)

First of all, I appologise for the dodgy phone pic's.

I think it's fairly self-explanatory. i used red vinyl/pleather on the outside, and a cherry-print cotton for the lining, and some plain black fabric from an old pair of pants for the outside's that're covered by the records. i used spray-adhesive to stick the records to the bag, and then stitched it on via the usual melted-holes method, with upholstery thread.

the handles are chain, woven with velvet ribbon.
