hi all
i picked up my my mail today and received 3 packages! two of which were wool! - the first i had expected but the second came from a friend whom i taught to knit a few months ago when she was visiting
to thank me she sent this:

oh my i had no idea what was in the package and could not even wait to get inside to open it up (you can see my log cabin in the background) and i gasped when i saw this beautiful fleece artist mohair
it is two 100 gram/200 metre skiens
do you think it is enough for a cropped cardigan or something like that?
i don't really wear shawls at all so am thinking more along the lines of some thing structured
any pattern ideas??

once the river breaks up and the border via the top of the world opens up i'm jumping in my wee car and coming to anchorage! i've never been but am hoping as it is a big city (for the north: huge!) i'm hoping i can pick up some nice wool!
what else must i see?
i can't wait! hopefully by mid May the roads will open...

whipped this up the other evening to take a break from the sweater i'm knitting and because leela needed a scarf (or in my head i somehow felt she really needed one!)
kinda weird smile on me - photo taken waaaay to late

just made flora scarf from knitty - super fast and fun knit and totally the right size for spring!


and here is its humble start - i used up some random wool i had kicking around (alpaca lace weight from sisters christmas present, superwash wool from a baby present i made, and sari 'yarn' sooooo pretty -silk threads spun together)
