I just finished knitting this hat for my boyfriend.  Despite being a chemical engineer, he loves music, and plays the viola in several groups.  I designed the pattern myself, and though it is hard to tell in the pictures, it reads all the way around on the top line then the bottom.  And best of all, it is real viola music, and is actually the intro to the Beatles song "Yesterday".  Let me know what you think, or suggestions to make it better or clearer.

These probably aren't all that fantastic, but I am so proud of them because they are my first two attempts at making dresses!  I was so scared to try them at first because I always have so much trouble getting dresses to fit me right (and even more trouble getting styles that flatter me)

So after a very expensive trip to Joanns, I have been sewing all weekend.  Here are three bags I finished:

This is my first attempt at an applique quilt.  I think it is a lot of fun, and I love all the bright colors.

I absolutely love the colors in this quilt.  I might give it to a friend or donate it to a quilt auction, I'm not sure yet.



Does anyone have any tips on how to do the binding?  This is the step that I have the most trouble with, getting the binding pinned on evenly so that when I sew it I sew it on both sides and also so that when I pin and sew it it doesn't get bunched up/wrinkly.

This afghan is very special to me because my Grandfather made it for me.  He intended it to be a baby afghan, and was saving it until I had a baby, but he passed away a week ago and my grandmother wanted me to have it right away.  He was really talented and I wanted to share how beautiful these afghans can be.

The afghan is actually about 4 foot by 5 foot, though you can't see all of it in the picture.

I am a nerd.  I embrace the fact that I am a nerd.  These are my first two stencils ever, I've been looking at all the other fabulous stenciling on here, and mine aren't that good yet, but I really like these two shirts I made.


I'm not at all happy how the wording at the bottom turned out, but I love the dog!

I love wearing skirts in the summer, but I don't own very many, so I decided to make my own.  This is only my second attempt at sewing clothing for myself!  Sorry about the poor picture quality. . .

And this is my favorite, a circle skirt in a retro-ish pattern, lined with pink satin lining (which you can't see at all)

I whipped up these two bags last night.  I'm really proud of them because this is my first attempt at making bags with lining.  I modified the "sha sha dream bag" tutorial by buglake.  The little one is about 6 inches tall and is reversible and the big one is about 13 inches tall.

I am trying to make this dress for a party in about 3 weeks.



I finished making the skirt and have a corset top.  Now I am trying to embellish.  Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the 'bubbles' to keep their shape without making the dress too heavy?
