Over the past few months, I've gotten married, moved and started a new job. All this has meant not too much time for knitting. I've managed to make a few pairs of plain socks this summer, but now I've started to get into the swing of things and I want to pick up my needles again for something with a bit of a challenge. I'm up for pretty much anything (I've done colourwork, cables, lace and everything in between) but haven't been keeping up with the new patterns and trends of the past few months. Any suggestions?

Will Knitty's Beaudelaire count as lace? There are definitely yarn overs, but when I look at them, I don't necessarily think "lace socks". Maybe I've just answered my own question.

Sorry I haven't been participating so far - it's been a slow winter for knitting! I'm definitely going to try for April.

I AM OBSESSED WITH HAWAIIAN QUILTS!!! I bought some stickers a while back and I need to learn how to quilt in order to make myself one. Your project inspires me to actually get on with it. Did you follow a pattern for yours? If not, where do you get your inspiration?

My resolutions are mostly blog related or assisted - 1)take more detailed notes on what happens when I knit so that I post about more than just finished objects, and 2) make a list of my stash and keep track of how it's being used up as the year progresses. In yesteryear, I would have just done all this stuff in a journal, but now I can do it on the internet to share with everyone else!

I'm guessing that it's new - I've never seen it, at least. I'll keep an eye out and if I find it, maybe we can do a little swap!

I wouldn't mind joining up! I just cast on for a plain pair of socks with some self-patterning yarn I bought just before the holidays, so that works perfectly for my first pair. Can't wait to blow through some of the  sock yarn I've got hanging around!

WOW. That is so intricate, and the colour is perfect too. If you don't mind me asking, did you have any resources when designing? I'm interested in aran patterns, but don't know what would be the best book or website to start with.
