1  Japanese Craft Books - Handles? in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Discussion and Questions by liddy on: November 09, 2007 02:23:01 PM
Hey guys -

I just got some amazing japanese craft books with purse patterns.  A lot of the purses in the books use these skinny, leathery looking handles that look so lovely - I just don't know where to get anything like them...

The last one has the kind i want the most...I had a hard time finding good pictures, but hopefully someone will know what I'm talking about!

Where can one get skinny, pre-made leather-ish handles!?
Thanks in advance,
Liddy

#2: Built by Liddy...First try at shirring! (aka my new love)

shirring is SO fun

not the greatest, but the fabric was cheap and i learned how to do a new thing...so i'm excited even if i don't wear it everyday.

thanks for looking, comments are nice  Cool

Hey peeps,
I made this bag a little while back.  I think it's kind of ugly, but I'm not entirely sure just how ugly.  What do you think?

Be honest! I really don't care if you say it's poo.

8  Granny's No Square in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by liddy on: March 01, 2007 08:27:17 PM
Here's mine!
I used the yarn suggested, but in different colors.
It's a bit lumpy, and i think its way smaller than it seems in the book, but i still like it!

Me (so you can get an idea of the size):

Here it is:

The button is actually one of my grandmas old clip on earrings

Hey all,

So I taught myself how to crochet in November with hopes that I would be able to learn to make animals by December in time for christmas gifts.  I did, so here they are:

Group shot!

Octopus, thanks to PepperKitty for this wonderful pattern (http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=114316.0)

Totoro, thanks to Angry Angel, pattern here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=122694.0

Lion, one of Roxycrafts patterns (http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=98247)

Giraffe, Tigerlilly pattern
(http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=5145479)

Elephant, from a japanese pattern book

Buggy! My personal favorite...looks just like my boyfriends parents' dog, who always sticks her tongue out.  I'm pretty proud of this one. (modified pattern from japanese pattern book)

Thanks for looking! Please tell me what you think.  Kiss
