has anyone tries to knit with that DMC floss? and would it make sense to but a ball of wool, split the plies and use that as sock yarn?

hi Sandra, and thanks!!! when i made the hexagons, i made a border of double crochet around each one, making 3 double crochets in the chain 2 space. then i held them wrong sides together and i slipped stitched each one together. i'm sorry, was that clear as mud? i'm really a knitter that does a tiny bit of crochet once in a while Smiley

i have been working on this not knowing there was a CAL going on here!!! some i have you guys to motivate me!!  Cheesy  here is no progress so far...

i followed the pattern as it was written, but i did a round of double crochet around to tie them all together

do you guys think this would make a good baby blanket? the mom is a little non-conventional

yes you can start on straights, just make sure you gauge i right and your needles are long enough
