2  a matrix like house coat into a wearable jacket in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by smileygirl on: April 12, 2008 08:21:29 AM
this was a house coat that i had to get when i saw it at the Salvation Army. it was $6 i think. it looked like a quilted coat that was from the Matrix movies. I forgot to take a before pic, but if you ever saw the movies, you know what it looked like. I cut it down to a cute length, slimmed it down, and added length to the sleeves.

and a closeup of the quinted design

I hope you guys like it, and as always comments welcome!!!

5  1st finished FO of 2008. a top down raglan in Knitting: Completed Projects by smileygirl on: January 13, 2008 06:07:02 PM
this is the first sweater that i have ever made for myself. i'm so proud of this baby. i used the pattern from the Peony Knits blog http://peonyknits.blogspot.com/2005/11/anthropologie-inspired-capelet-fo-and.html
i just made it into a sweater instead of a caplet. i did decreasing in the waist and increased for the hips. i used Loin Brand Homespun in Barrington (i had to buy this color because that's my FIL's name) i tool this pic after a full day of work, and it still held up well

someone else on craftster made something similar to this but with short sleeves. that's my little munchkin in the pic too. he was asking me to pose with his play-doh, and i was trying to ignore him long enough to get the picture.
comments and criticism welcome.
thank you

9  duct tape body double in Completed Projects by smileygirl on: April 16, 2006 11:35:00 AM
After weeks of looking at all the duct tape models all you crafty people did, I decided to do my own. I'm tired of knitting a sweater only to find out it's too big or too small. Please be kind  Cry it's my first finished post.

Hope you all like. it took me about 2 hours to do and my husband helped my with the top of it. then i stuffed it with old clothes from my son. (this makes the form really heavy)
