I think the things I have for sale are really nice, so why isn't anyone buying anything?  Huh Is it the prices, the photos, the descriptions...? I'd appreciate some feedback because I haven't made many sales and I want to do better. Thanks. http://www.etsy.com/shop.php?user_id=89087

Some of your photos you are taking indoors with flash. Natural lighting no flash. Also, the horns you may want to have a pair to demonstrate how they look on but sell a different one. Many people will not buy items like hats, headbands, ect. that are shown worn for hygiene purposes. So just have a "model pair" and a comment about they will receive an unworn pair.

6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: spinning is hard on: December 16, 2007 04:07:25 PM
It will always unravel until you set the twist. I do that by winding it into a hank, getting it wet, and letting it dry stretched, like with a weight attached to it.

How is the best way to keep it unraveling while setting the twist?

Ok so I just bought a bottom drop spindle off etsy and they sent some wool with it. I've been trying to spin it all day. I watched a video, I looked at books, look at sites.

I spin spin spin... sometimes its tight and sometimes it is loose which as a this is my first time I thought hey this is normal. But as soon as i take it off the spindle it completely unwinds itself. Even if i spin tight, i spin so tight that it has snapped but it still unwinds. I heard people heating it to keep the spin but I mean shouldn't it stay someone spin?

How long have you been knitting or doing what you do??  I have been sewing about 3 years now........I tried to learn from a book but discovered the one true rule--you really need to be taught a hands on skill in person.....took some classes and now I can venture out on my own, but it took awhile.............my interest has never flagged though........just got more interested.............

It's been over two years, 3 years maybe? Now that I know the years I feel like I should be way more skilled. I've never even attempted cables. And in like the last 4 months i just learned how to do double pointed knitting in the round.

I learned from a book but I think I still had to go to someone and ask how to cast on. Once I got that it just took practice and patience (sp?).
