Fantastic bags!

May I ask what kind of fasteners you use for the messenger bags (if any)?
45  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Yarn substitution for Knitty's Fetching on: July 31, 2006 04:34:31 AM
I suck at figuring out yarns to substitute for patterns.

Would Patons Classic Merino be a good substitute for Knitty's Fetching??  I have a ton of it that I got on sale and would LOVE to use it up by making a few Fetching's for Christmas presents.

Here's the link:  http://www.knitty.com/ISSUEsummer06/PATTfetching.html

Your help is GREATLY appreciated!

I like it.  I made one of these too, but used the same fabric, just in different colors for the exterior and the lining.

I'd love to see a picture of yours!

I love it!

It's hard to tell...but are those beads on it? Great idea.

I've seen several bags made of that awesome polka-dotted fabric....I need one!

May I ask where that fabric is from Diana12345?

I love that first bag.  I didn't know there was a tutorial for one!  I've been making them for a couple of months now and had to figure the pattern out on my own  Sad   But I never got it exactly the way I wanted it.  Thanks for posting the link!
Here's the one I did awhile back. http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=96352.0
My newest ones are a lot better, and have much brighter colors,  but I really love yours!  Your top opens much wider it looks like .

Yours looks fantastic!  I'd love to see your newer ones too!  Do you sell them?  It's a great way to use up scraps and a great excuse to buy more fabric (as if we need that!)

I'm hooked on making bags, but really, how many can I possibly use?  I'm really not that interested in selling them, I think I"m more of a collector.
What do you do with your bags?

Anyways...Thanks for your positive feedback!

Great bag!  I love the long handles.  Gorgeous fabric too - did you get that fabric in Canada?  We used to have so many textile factory outlet sources in south-western Ontario but now I only know of Fabricland and Len's Mill Stores.  I'm not one to buy fabric on-line because I really have to touch it and see it in person.  Too bad we can't get Amy Butler fabric here.

I'm live in St. Catharines Margarita Miss, home of one crappy Fabricland.  I frequently pop "over the river" to the Niagara falls area.  I picked up this fabric at Joann's.

That's awesome!!!!  I love the outside fabric, what is it??  Your bag is beautiful!

Leesah

Leesah...I got the fabric at Joann's in Niagara Falls.  It was something like $6.99/yard.  The bag was made of half a yard of outer and half a yard of inner fabric with not a scrap to spare!
