Awesome bag...I too love that fabric!
32  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Green flowery birthday purse that almost killed me and my machine! on: August 07, 2006 05:42:53 AM
Well, after giving away the first bag that I made for my friend's upcoming birthday, I had to whip up another.

Here it is:

I decided to try this tutorial, http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=24944.0 to make a flower to put on it.  I loved the tutorial, although my flower turned out a bit wonky (I like to think it has character).

I have yet to attach it to the purse (I need to glue a pin to the back of the flower) but here's what I hope it will look like when it's done:

Let me know what you think!

Your purse is awesome.  I've made one like that but now that I see yours I think it's time to sew up another!
34  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Fabric covered buttons? on: August 03, 2006 04:09:28 AM
I apologize in advance if this question is in the wrong forum, but I wasn't sure where to put it.

I LOVE fabric covered buttons and my hunch is that you need a kit or special tools/buttons to make them, but I'm not sure.

How do you make them?Huh

35  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Embellished mini chocolate bars on: August 02, 2006 06:29:30 PM
I've been doing a TON of surfing crafty blogs these days and I saw one that I just can't seem to be able to find again, no matter how hard I try.
The very creative person wrapped mini chocolate bars in fancy shmancy paper and kind of embellished them.  They were so cute and would make terrific add-ons to gifts.
I would love to find that site again.

Any help?

Thank goodness for Target napkins! That looks awesome!
37  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / What I've been up to during a scorching heat wave! on: August 02, 2006 03:31:27 PM
The heat and humidity are at record levels, it's way too hot to go outside, so this is what I've been up to:

This bag is made from this tutorial http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=52143.0.  I added a pocket and a magnetic snap.  I applied two layers of fusible interfacing to support the snap, I hope that is enough!

The colours in the second picture are much truer to the real thing.

An then today I did this.  I modified the wonderful Jordy bag pattern found here http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=32204.0.  It's cheap Walmart fabric, but I love it!

Thanks!!

Oh I love polka dots!
The fabric is great and I love the shape of the bag.
Did you use a pattern, or did you make it up as you went along?

Your bag is great!  I love the change you made to the handles, mine turned out wonky.  I plan to make this bag again with a slight change to the handles.
Way to go!
