hi,

this might be an unbelievably stupid question, but my brain really isnt working today, and i havent sewn anything for ages! i'm going to be making the amy butler nappy bag soon (when all the fabric i've ordered arrives). as its going to be a nappy bag and will probably get dirty and chucked in the washing machine, should i wash the fabric before i cut it?

thanks!  Grin
3  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / fab fabric! on: March 09, 2007 02:39:27 PM
Hi,

I've been looking for ages for cute fabric, but as i'm in the UK, its really hard to get it (all the good fabric is in the US, and I don't want to pay for the postage). This site offers reasonable postage charges and prices for the fabric.

Just thought I'd let y'all know Smiley

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / Re: fluffy hot water bottle cover on: December 04, 2006 01:24:18 AM
thanks for the help! aml, your idea sounds great, and a lot easier than trying to do a zip! i thought that the fur might be a problem with getting caught in the zip. i'll have a go at that and post a pic when its done Smiley
9  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions / fluffy hot water bottle cover on: December 03, 2006 11:16:05 AM
i'm attempting to make a cover out of fluffy fur for a heart shaped hot water bottle, and one side needs to have a zip. I made a practice one out of normal fabric, which didnt turn out too well, and was hard enough without fur everywhere (its very fluffy)!
this is the bottle:

and this is my rubbish paint drawing of the cover:

there needs to be a hole to let the plug bit stick out. the black dots is where the zip will be.
Does anyone have any ideas of how I could make this without wanting to poke out my eyes in frustration?

Thanks!  Grin
