I was thinking of using colored contact paper to make some cool wall art shapes and silhouettes. Has anyone tried this? I'm wondering if it will damage the walls when I try to take it off. I've seen the ones you can purchase online, but I would love to be able to make my own. One more solution to white apartment walls! I'm going to try some test patches in the closet, so I will let you know.
These are awesome. I am also curious what you made them on. I've always used vellum or paper, but you can't really do more than a couple and then the stencil gets wrecked. I've tried the plastic but it's harder to cut out. Any suggestions?
I made the stencils by blowing up pictures and cutting them out on vellum with an exacto. I wanted to make audrey bigger but i haven't found a good method that doesn't require piecing together lots of smaller stencils (she is the product of 4 8x10inch ones).
Tell me what you think. I have giant walls in my apartment so I needed some big art. I just finished the Marilyns for a friend. I didn't make the flower prints next to Audrey. Those are a tablecloth cut in half and mounted on wood frames that I made.
