1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / Re: Homespun baby blanket on: January 02, 2008 05:40:50 PM
I really like this!  I like the different colors that you used, and the idea of a granny square blanket is really growing on me now.  Well done, and I'm sure the little one will LOVE it!   Smiley

Thank you!  I sent it to the parents so I am waiting in anticipation of the package getting there...I can't wait!

Whipped up this homespun granny with leftovers I had in my homespun stash.  It is for a friend's little girl to be, she will be having her anytime now!

3  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Re: Snuggles for Shelter Animals on: December 26, 2007 10:57:12 PM
I love animals and all animal causes but.... I think that charities that comfort little HUMAN kids is the way to go.

Contact your local police department, my local police department is completely open to receiving comfort blankets and teddy bears for kids that are put into foster care.  Donating to this sort of cause could make all the difference in the world to kids!  These kids are our future!

Or you could do both.  While you might not think this is as "worthy" a cause as making things for people, many others will.

6  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Re: Double knitting knitalong! on: November 26, 2007 03:59:05 PM
Going to join on in if it's not too late.  I want to make the argyle scaft from the new Stoler book (need to borrow it though, it's the only pattern I like) and also the star scarf.

Wow I like them did you use a pattern or did you make them up?

I modified the pattern I used for my star blanket to make them.  I just used cotton and a really small hook.

I'm flattered Smiley

that so awesome! it's really colorful. You must have tons of patience cause I once tried to make one of those (with a huge hook Tongue) and it was mind-numbing

I did most of it before bed, it was actually pretty relaxing.  I didn't have a deadline or anything, if I tried to do it fast, it might have bugged me.
