1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / leaves, duct tape and paint on: April 20, 2009 01:37:02 PM
So, I FINALLY have high speed internet, and I decided to take the chance to upload some pictures of some older projects I've done. I'll probably post some new ones later since it now doesn't take three years to do so. The first project is the most recent. It is a dress I made out of leaves I collected last fall. I taped and pinned them together. The second is my duct tape prom dress that I made for last years prom. Made completely out of duct tape and tissue paper (as is the hat). The third project I made perhaps last summer. I made a stencil for the design which is supposed to resemble a waste basket and a crumpled up paper with the word "stereotypes" being thrown into it. Kind of an experiment I did.

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / "did a four year old attack your prom dress or is it supposed to be like that?" on: January 11, 2009 05:09:31 PM
I know it's a little late, ok a LOT late, but oh well. I made this dress for a friend to wear to prom. It was originally going to be backless and have a different top part but she decided it was too risque. risque-smishque I say. Anyways, so this is the more modest version. I painted my hands various hues and then made the prints all over the black fabric, then sewed it. It's sort of different as far as prom dresses go but I like it. I ended up wearing duct tape to prom, so I suppose might have been a teensy-bit more out there...

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / painting canvas + cherry blossoms = totally unwearable dress on: February 03, 2008 10:03:18 AM
I made this dress last year actually for my art 2 class. It was my final project, for which we could do anything we pleased. The dress is made out of painting canvas, which was a difficult material to work with, but I wanted something tough and un-feminine to kind of contrast against the design. The top bit wasn't made too well, I tend to let my work deteriorate as I get more and more sleepy Undecided, and the design is just a simple, paneled cocktail dress. I find myself cringing slightly at the photos, oh well, i suppose i really should start trying to use patterns. I painted the design after sewing it, its supposed to look like cherry blossoms. I sort of cheated on the crumpled canvas flowers and hot glued them together Grin, although they are sewn onto the dress. It's not a practical dress at all and not comfy in the slightest. It's more art than wearable fashion I suppose.

PS. please excuse the dark photos and and the extremely sleepy and dark eyes
PPS. I hope this works, I haven't posted on here before and am somewhat computer illiterate. Sorry if I mess it up.
