51  HOME SWEET HOME / Interior Decorating: Completed Projects / puffin wall hangings on: May 17, 2006 02:21:19 PM
I made these felt appliqued wall hanging especially to fit into cheep ikea frames.  I actually made the tufted puffin one twice because I made them both facing the same way and I wanted them to face each other.  I gave the extra one to my mom.

52  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / button blanket pillow on: May 09, 2006 01:10:35 PM
The last time I went to Portland to visit my parents I got all inspired to make a NW Indian button blanket kind of like the ones seen here
http://www.ccthita.org/3blanket.jpg
so I sorted through my grandma's old button boxes for shell buttons and brough tons home with me.  When I got home I realized that I didn't have the patience for a whole blanket so I made this pillow instead.  I kind of adapted the halibut from a wood carving and made a felt applique out of it and sewed the shell buttons on in strategic places and made it into a pillow.
53  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / brittle star purse and squid cell phone case on: May 09, 2006 12:52:22 PM
Here is a bag I made a couple of years ago with a brittle star (a kind of star fish) appliqued to it out of felt.  I love making things out of felt because it it so easy to sew and you don't have to worry about seams but they always get really pilly with a lot of use.

you can see the pills a lot more in my cell phone case because it gets a lot more use.
54  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Paper Mobiles on: May 09, 2006 12:23:36 PM
This is the first mobile I made a couple of years ago.  It is made out of paper, fishing line, dowels and those little fishing swively things.

Its really hard to take pictures of moblies because they are always moving.  It has three pelicans at different levels.
