1  CLOTHING / Designer Clothing Homage / Re: Project Runway 5 (beg on p193) on: October 02, 2008 09:43:50 PM
I liked Kenley at first but seriously I cannot stand her. She goes.. Oh it's just how I am. Well you know what? We all have flaws, but most of us try and CORRECT them. Ugh... so irritating. I hope she gets eliminated. I looked at all the shows as soon as they came out and Jerrell, Korto and Leanne are my pick for the three that compete in the end, and my favorite to win is Leanne out of all the collections. Hers was interesting, cohesive, well made (from what I can see on the damn tiny pics) and all of that good stuff. Korto's was fine thou a bit boring. Jerrell's was fun but eh.. I don't know.. it lacked something.

Overall I was disappointed, none of them knocked me out of my seat like last years did. Last year was the best season IMO. This season has been a bit weak.

That second top has got a braiding type thing going on.. Like lacing shoes.. the strips are going back and forth across the back if you look at the way they're twisting. Just stare at it long enough and you'll get it.

So easy. I don't know how to explain it better than looking at the picture.

Mark a strip down the center. don't cut all the way to the top or bottom. Then cut out sections from there, wide or narrow as you want. Now you have a bunch of little fingers from the sides of the tee shirt facing toward the back of the tee shirt. Attach them. Throw a couple stiches in there. A finer single knit tee shirt will work best for this so that it curls onto itself like that. You want something that will stretch out a bit.

Here's the world's worst and quickest (like 2 mins) paint drawing.

Work out? Tongue No offense meant, because I need to do it myself Tongue

I don't really know what to tell you, if they're already well worn, I don't think you can really stretch them. You could get him a little elastic button extender like THIS.

Really thou, attempting anything would probably be way more hassle than it's worth. You just have to beat some sense into him and make him buy new pants. Sometimes that is just what you have to do. I know not a very craft answer, but I personally would just rather a) lose weight b) buy new jeans if I didn't fit into my jeans anymore.

They both look really great! I am impressed particularly by the jacket and handbag.

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Re: Anybody here by chance in the UNT Fashion Program? on: September 15, 2008 07:13:31 PM
Thanks for the input ladies.. I am going to try and talk to an adviser and find out if I'd lose credits and if so how many and see if I can take a tour and what not.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Anybody here by chance in the UNT Fashion Program? on: September 12, 2008 05:27:25 PM
I hope this is okay here. I wasn't sure where else to put it. I currently am attending TWU and I am getting to the point I'm miserable due to the environment and other students. Considering transferring to UNT perhaps but I want to do some research on it. I know it may be far fetched but I figured perhaps someone here goes to or has graduated from UNT (University of North Texas.. but if you went there, you know that).

Thanks.

I'll echo everyone else. Beautiful work. I really wish I had more time to sew over the summer. Now of course school is back in session and I have no time to sew for myself.. Bummer.. Smiley Love the last outfit in particular.
