12  My DIY pocketfolds :) in Weddings and Bridal Showers by auroraskye on: July 13, 2007 09:37:11 AM
I meant to share these here, we did the design, we used a free vector art we found online and edited it heavily. Quite pleased with how they turned out.

Here is what we used as inspiration, aka, what we knocked off:  http://www.weddingbee.com/2007/04/27/diy-pocketfolds-finished/

Pictures are large so I won't link them as pictures, click the links:

You can see that kinkos obviously cut some of our inserts somewhat crooked. Or else our printer printed a few somewhat crooked. Oops.

I took a close up of those because FH and I think they look like little demons. They are our wedding demons. We are amused. Very Happy

Total cost for all the supplies not counting cutting and stamps is like 125ish dollars!! That's for enough to make 65 invites plus extras.

13  a tee shirt idea needs help! (images) in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by auroraskye on: August 24, 2006 03:01:19 PM
Okay.. here's my image, I'm pretty happy with it, particularly the white version.

Black version, maybe.

Do you think that'd look better with the skull reversed, like white outline, eye sockets, etc? I can try that..

What I want, is perhaps if I can find a raglan tee with black sleeves, putting the top design on it.. Debating, since it's raglan, and I'm all for the cheesy, to put something on the back. Any ideas? Do you think that's too over the top? I thought of putting an 83 since that's my birth year, and I plan on wearing this on my birthday night out soon..

Otherwise, I'd like to put it on a black teeshirt.. The problem with this is, I have the dark teeshirt transfer papers, and I made one before for a gift, but it's a pain to cut out little details, so I guess I'd fill in the black around the letters and what not, but leave most of the actual space white so I can just transfer it onto the teeshirt.. But then of course my blacks wont match exactly.. Ack. I dunno what to do.

Ideas?

Here is a version with an inverted skull, but I don't really like it as much:

14  stripey skirt! yay! (pictures) in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by auroraskye on: June 06, 2006 04:28:30 PM
Okay so I've had this fabric for a while and I was going to make some kind of top with it but I changed my mind and followed THIS:(http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=34064.0) amazing, wonderful tutorial and made a skirt instead..

So here it is!

The first picture better represents the color.. It's not as bright as it seems. I cut it with a 30" band around the waist part, but I think when I make another I'll cut it at 29".. Because if it wasn't for the skirt part, it'd fall off me. 0_o I guess because the fabric is super stretchy. It's super comfy and I love it! I got material today to make more skirts. One for a friend and a camo print one for myself. Wink

15  Long Pants into .. Long Shorts.. :D in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by auroraskye on: May 05, 2006 01:17:04 PM
Woo, these were a quickie. Only like twenty minutes. So, they're not super fantastic, there is a lumpy spot on the thigh I need to fix. They were a size too big which a high waist and tapered legs.. but I like the tab front look. I shortended the rise, so they sat lower on my hips, narrowed the legs, and cut them off and hemmed. I am most proud of the faux cuff, it looks pretty spiffy.

Sorry for the poor pics.

Tada..! Perfect dog walking shorts for the wonderful Texas weather.. Tongue
