OK...
I had been too deressed, ten too broke, then to busy (new job), ten too exhausted (from new job) to craft, but I did this scarf during breaks on a few days at work.
It is the Ruffled Cravat from the One Skein book.
I used a wool/cotton/acrylic blend from my LYS....
I'll post the brand later. It was their Denim Chunky line.
Starts with an "S"...Sidar? Crap, I'm tired.

Loved working with the yarn, although in the book it calls for Cashmerino with a P hook, I stayed with the p hook... but I think, were I to repeat this pattern with this yarn, I might use an N.

Still, nice and flouncy!!!
This one was a gift, but I am working one up for my mom.

My current OTN project is I am finally trying sock knitting... but I am not used to sock weight yarnd on my size 3 dpns. I may try a pair with worsted weight first, just to get my rhythm on.

Snoogans.

I will post pics asap.
Also, still need to make handles for capri sun bag.

Tonight, I started organizing my yarn stash.

Alias.....

YES>>>>>SUGAR!!!!!!!!!

OK, I finished the one bootie.......

hate it. It doesn't help than I decided to loosen my guage midway. WHAT WAS I THINKING?Huh!!!??!!!

I guess I may do the unthinkable.,....unravel....again!!!!!

I wanted to move on to something new..... but I guess I am stuck in crafter purgatory.

Oh yeah, I did recon that one shirt.
It is one of those black sweaters with white shirt cuffs and collar. I whacked those suckers off so fast......
It was my great-aunts funeral yesterday, and I really felt like I didn't have anything suitable to wear. So, last minute, I whacked off the cuffs and collar, and did a quickie hem on both areas. (Fortunately, the front of the black sweater part was already hemmed into a nice v neck.)

Later, I want to redo the hems, but it worked fine yesterday.
Today Leah is going to be in AUstin for the book signing, and I might wind up misisng it. DAMNDAMNDAMN.

I need to learn to say no to my friends... or at least, not now.

SHEESH

I did no knitting today. I am a bad person....whiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii iiiiiine.
OK... Saturday night, I DID sew my Capri Sun knitting bag, and will post it as soon as I make the handles for it<G>.
Voice in Shanno'ns Head#1:You do realize that there are two unfinished purses here, don't you?
Voice in Shannon's Head #2: Shut-up, bitch!

OK... now my mom saw the knitting bag, and wants me to sew her a lunch bag out of the same juice pouches.
Her's will take alot less than the 28 I used on my bag. (I need to get my cousin to start saving me her daughter's pouches!!!!!

Also, I had bought a toddles pair of jeans from Thrift Town awhile ago. The waist band is regular, not all elastic-y. I plan on cutting the legs out, and probably the crotch, too, and making a clutch. Must buy a zipper.
Sounds like another unfinished project waiting to happen.

New list.....
Knitting-
finish Mom's scarf
finish my one bootie (, then start other one)
Sewing-
Put handles on Capris Sun bag
put zipper in One Skein purse
make Mom's lunch bag
sew jeans clutch
recon black-sweater-with-white-shirt-collar-and-cuffs into black sweater, only

OK.... I haven't really FINISHED anything this week, but.. come one!!!! I've started and remained in the middle of projects..... tha must count fo ra half of a gold star..... or, at least.. a cookie?

Okay... I got squat done in crafting, but I did finish an 11 year update of my family's family tree book, and made a presentation at the reunion today.

But I did glance a bit at my serger books.

Tonight, Capri Sun, and/or bust. (I like to keep my options open.) Grin

Got three hours sleep, woke up bcuz of sunburn, hen got thre more this afternoon. So, that was a checklist item<VEG>.

Did a few more rows knitting.

Sewed liner.

Did NOT sew into purse, as....DUH I need to get a zipper, first.

OK.... I am now going to lay out Capri SUn bags, and see which formation I desire.

I think a wide (w=2xH) bag to hold my Kah-nittin'.
OK, I WILL JUST SUCK IT UP, AND DO IT!
(music from ROcky playing behind my head....)
duhduhduh duhduhduh duhduhduh duhduh, duhduhduh duhduhduh duhduhduh duhduh

Okay, I will not blame Ozzy. I will not blame.....

ACCOMPLISHMENT #1
I actually did a few rows of knitting today, despite sunburn.

AND, I decided in the middle of the night to
A) thread my serger (ie, tie threads to the lead threads the nice sewing maching repair man put in for me)
B) serge a nice liner for my One Skein purse
C)pat self on back.

ACCOMPLISHMENT #2
I threaded the serger, with little to no difficulty.
GO ME!

(sorta)ACCOMPLISHMENT #3
The I marke a circle to serge just inside of, so as to fit inside aforementioned purse.
Pinned the two pieces.
Proceeded to run through the maching......
AND ALL FRIGGIN HELL BROKE LOOSE!!!!

Ahem, it would seem that in the YEARS I have owned the sucker, and nearly.. what? six months to a year since the guy fixed it.... I HAVE NEVER USED IT.

It would seem it is more difficult to serge a circle, than to just sew one.
Plus, I left the serger book at MY house...(still housesitting), so I didn't know what I was doing wrong.... but, eventually, I practiced with straight line, and low and behold.... almost no fudges.

So, I have TWO serger videos that I need to go home and watch.. as there is no vcr here....dangit.

So.... while no actual liner has cast its shadow on the inside of the crocheted purse, at least I got much needed serger practice in. Even if it was just futzing around. It was still coolness.

Note to self... there is a reason they sell tweezers for directing the thread through a serger. I was able to manage without, tonight. But, only just. I felt like I oculdn't see anymore after awhile. Plus, last time I threaded that SAME DAMN NEEDLE, I really was pissed off enough at it to not care if it threaded or not.

But, anyways, that is STILL something.

So, tomorrow, I will SEW the lining. Sheesh!
Also, since I really can't afford to go fabric shopping, and am using an old scrap of sheet which is white, I need to dye the thing, eventually. I figure I may use this as an excuse to try Kool-Aid dyeing.

Goal for tomorrow:

1) sew liner
2)sew liner into bag
3)do a few more rows of knitting..... maybeI'll eventually finish this one slipper<G>....hopefully it will fit
4)Capri Sun purse...... or maybe Knitting bag<VEG>... choooka chookaaaah!

Why am I up at 5 am on Craftster.. AGAIN!!!!!?Huh!?!?!?!?!??!
5) get the hell to bed!

Humble....
glad to know Chester is home.
There is probably a good reason the Doc spoke to you, and not your boyfriend.....
Yanno, guys NEVER ask for directions, and the cat probably need at home attention. Boyfriend might forget everything the second you leave the office<G>.
OK, I'll stop guy bashing. Sorry, menfolk!

Peace Out
