31  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Road to Golden, Fall 07 Knitscene on: August 23, 2007 11:26:25 PM
so who else is knitting this? http://www.knitscene.com/2007/fall07projects.asp

It's gorgeous and i pretty much love anything with fair isle!

So i've been reading through the pattern and i need a little bit of help understanding part of it. I haven't knit a sweater from the bottom up so i'm having trouble understanding how the sleeves join the body... i'm planning on increasing the body of the sweater by a full fair isle repeat (16) stitches so that i can get my size plus ease. Since i dont totally understand how the sleeves attach i cant figure out how me adding stitches to the body is going to affect the sleeves and attaching them.
32  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Loose and easy summer skirt! on: June 08, 2007 12:19:24 AM
I bought this fabric earlier today intending to make a dress but a drawstring skirt just sounded so appealing. I live in skirts in the summer, so nice and cool in texas's heat waves. There is a contrast hem and a matching drawstring. I used french seams throughout to eliminate any fraying in the wash and keep this skirt in heavy rotation!

I wish i had better pictures but noone was available to take them so i had to use the good ol self timer.

34  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / craft bucket? Not sure what to call this bag! on: May 03, 2007 01:44:07 AM
My sister fell in love with this fabric while we were out shopping a few weeks ago so i bought a half yard and made her a little present in a fit of insomnia tonight! Thats how all of my good presents get made!

I'm calling it a bucket because its very sturdy and stands on its own so you can put your craft supplies in it and set it at your feet.

and filled up with my stuff! (its going to be hard giving this to her!)

35  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my first jaywalkers, second pair of socks, and the beginnings of an addiction on: April 17, 2007 04:55:16 AM
yeah.... i think i've caught the sock bug...

this would be the point where i explain how the camera added 5 inches to the length of my foot, but i wont lie... i'm 5'11" and dammit, my size 11's help me balance  Tongue

I love this pattern, simple, great fit, looks good with my favorite kinds of yarns, i will definitely be making more jaywalkers.

pattern: jaywalkers
yarn:  artyarns ultramerino 4, color ? white/brown/aqua/yellow
needles: size 1 inox dpns
36  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / U neck Fair isle, a sweater vest that rocks! on: April 09, 2007 10:32:36 PM
This is a modified version of the u neck fair isle sweater pattern from Vogue Knitting, fall 06. I modified the sweater into a vest by not knitting the sleeves, obviously  Tongue, and also modifying the arm holes so that i could add a knitted trim.

i'm really bad at taking pictures of myself, but here's an action shot, i dont have a shirt to wear with it yet, i really need a nice brown long sleeve but i figure i have til next november before its cold enough to wear it!

40  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing in General: Discussion and Questions / Know of a sale on patterns or fabric? post it here!! on: March 29, 2007 06:09:37 PM
This is the place to let everyone know of any great pattern sales or fabric sales. This is mainly for instore sales or online sales that only last a short period of time. This isn't for just discount stores or sites in general.

For example i get the hancock fabrics sales flyers, so if there is a particularly awesome sale on patterns i'll post it so that everyone thats interested can make sure to get themselves to hancocks for the pattern sale!

I will go through and delete posts once they become obsolete.
