he's made in caron simply soft, size 6 needles. took under a week. i wrote the pattern up as i went along but i think its too complicated to actually release. i also don't know if there's enough interest in actually making him that it would be worth the time. i'd love some feedback!

i know he's out of the race, but my husband and I are still huge ron paul fans. i just started stencilling again so i thought i'd give some shirts a go.



i'm really happy with the way they turned out, especially since i just made it up as i went along and kind of made up my own technique to make them reusable. i always hated spending an hour cutting out a stencil i could only use once or maybe twice.

i don't know if i made up this technique or not. i can't find it anywhere but i'm also not an expert stenciller by any means. i used an index card, clear packing tape, and a craft punch to make a teeny tiny stencil. then i used it over and over and over to make different designs.

this is my favourite one by far. the whole design is done on the back-- it's supposed to look like a gunshot wound from far away but then when you look closer it's all made of different colour hearts.

i'm totally in love with all my new shirts. i can't wait to go back to the dollar store and get a bunch of new hole punches.

i’ve been a big fan of andrew bell’s creatures in my head for a few years now. recently, i've been wanting to turn one of his cute yet gory creatures into a wearable knit-- and i did it! yay

heya. its been awhile since i posted here so i thought i'd show off my new armwarmers.



the yarn is from brooklyn handspun. i wanted to do something that was simple but not boring and that looked good with variegated yarn (i hate the way thumb gussets end up working)

just finished this last night for the DH-- it's a freedom hat.




the back says amagi ("freedom") in sanskrit and the porcupines on the earflaps and the colours are adapted from the free state project (freestateproject.or g) logo. it's double knit so it's reversible, but the ama-gi is done as a non-reversible pattern so that it isn't backwards on either side

it's caron simply soft and blue sky organic cotton, in my own pattern here. more details and charts on my blog

just finished this tonight. its the fourth reversible double knit earflap hat i've done, but i think it's pretty cute. it's supposed to be the new york skyline with the heart from the "i <3 ny" logo

yay, my new pocoyo hat! i lurve it, do you?

its in some VERY old (maybe '70's? '80's?) acrylic yarn that i found for free at the fiber studio at my university. it took about two days to knit-- 8 hours total. the patern is just eyeballed from this image i found on the pocoyo blog:
