is anyone up for a second round of the bath/spa swap?

i missed out on the first round but as i'll be done with school soon, i'll be ready to start doing a lot more crafting and swapping. and i'll certainly be up for some pampering with the goodies i could get from a spa swap! i've really been lusting after some homemade soap Smiley

here's the link to the round 1 discussion board: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=228048.0

13  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / help with bamboozled on: April 13, 2008 03:02:56 PM
hey everyone, i just starting knitting the bamboozled headband. the pattern is here: http://www.cyn.ca/knit/patterns/bamboozled/

i'm already stuck at row 18!

so, i just finished knitting row 18, which is:
Row 18: slwyif, k1, slwyif, k1, p2, k1, p1, k1, p4, k1, p1, k1, p2, k1, slwyif, k1, slwyif.

now i have 22 stitches on my needle. the next line is:

Row 19: k1, slwyif, k1, p1, yo, ssk, p1, k1, p1, LC, p1, k1, p1, yo, ssk, p1, k1, slwyif, k1.

doesn't that line require 24 stitches?? i'm so lost, how did those extra two stitches get in there? someone please help! i really love the way this headband looks and i want to get it right!
14  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / graduation swap? on: April 11, 2008 06:51:54 PM
hey everyone,

i'm graduating from undergrad in mid-May! i'm sure there are other craftsters out there...be it high school, college, grad school...let's celebrate each other's academic successes with a swap!

there are a number of ways we can do this...pairing up grads with people that want to support the grads, or just limiting the swap to grads and pairing them up with each other. what do you think? sound interesting?

we could craft stuff that might prepare us for the "real world"...for example i'll finally be out of the dorms and into an apartment. how about kitchen items like knitted dish cloths, hot pads/pot holders? decorations for walls? floor mats? photography? blankets? (that's a big one, probably wouldn't happen, but i can wish, right? Smiley) grocery shopping bags?

let me know...you guys up for this?

YAY CLASS OF 2008!
15  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / two headwear items on: January 15, 2008 09:45:10 AM
my 3rd and 4th FOs of 2008:

a cabled hat. i turned out really small. too small for an adult head...i'll give it to a neighbor of my aunt's.

and a quant!!

i'm so proud of the quant. it was a my first entrelac!
16  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / scarf and bikini on: January 06, 2008 03:04:44 PM
here is my last FO of 2007 and my first FO of 2008.

a palindrome scarf (so named because of the reversible cables) made out of 3 skeins of SWS in natural geranium:

i love it...so warm and smooshy.

and a bikini knit out of some cheap acrylic:

the bikini was an experiment to see if i could knit a bra, but i ran into some problems trying to figure out the straps. i did a halter for the bikini, but how can i make the straps more "bra-like?" i fear that the i cord will stretch and then the bra will be forever too big.
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / i don't understand slipped stitches. on: November 21, 2007 12:50:30 PM
this is not about me not understanding HOW to do them, but more like, what is the point? why slip instead of knit or purl? when it's at the beginning of a line, i get that it's to make the edge neater and sharper. but why would i do that in the middle of a work?

help me understand this and let me know that my slippage isn't for naught.
18  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / my sweater of many buttons on: October 01, 2007 10:07:46 AM

19  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / more irish hiking warmers on: August 13, 2007 11:25:24 AM
i made another set of these armwarmers, this time for my boyfriend. i knit them on size 8's with some cotton ease that he picked out. i'd never used cotton ease before, but i really like the feel of it.

and an action shot:

20  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / 2 hats and 1 cupcake on: August 07, 2007 10:38:33 PM
i recently knit my first two earflap hats and i am really quite proud! here is my shirtless brother modeling them:

the orange one is made of some delicious handspun that was sent to me from theboythatspins in a swap. the second is just some plain ol' red heart - the cheap knitter's best friend.
and here is my floor modeling 'em:

and i'm pretty proud of this little guy, too. a cupcake from the one skein book by leigh radford.

apologies for the blurry pictures.

what do you think of them?
