after the cupcake and the donut, i'm continuing with my guilty-pleasure-food knitting streak. this one's orange sherbet with a waffle cone. yum!

here's the pattern:

2  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / cupcake and donut yumz on: April 11, 2009 03:34:46 PM
Yesterday I was in the mood to try out some knit food patterns that I have been drooling over for a while but just never got around to doing. These were really quick and easy, and I think the result is super cute! It's also a great way to stash bust. I'm thinking about making a whole cupcake army.

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Finals Care Pacakge Swap? on: April 10, 2009 06:22:31 PM
Any high school or college students interested in doing a finals care package swap? We'll definitely need some de-stressing and encouragement in between writing those papers and studying for those exams. What could be more of a mood-booster than receiving a package from a fellow craftster full of goodies? I'm thinking including snacks/candies, coffee or tea, and some cute crafted items. What do you think? Anyone up for it?
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / sproinger hat! on: March 22, 2009 10:33:51 PM
Here's my latest FO, a Sproinger hat. I found the pattern here http://presentsknits.blogspot.com/2009/03/sproinger-free-pattern.html
I knit it out of about a skein and a half of SWS in Natural Plum. I might try to block it into something more slouchy, but I think I like it!

Comments?

i received some beautiful handspun yarn from whisp3rd in a personal swap, and whipped this hat up a few days later. i love the yarn and i loved knitting with it. what do you think?

6  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / scrap hat! on: January 22, 2009 05:17:52 PM
here's my latest de-stashing FO, modeled by my boyfriend. it's made of scraps from 3 balls of noro and 2 balls of sws.

it always feels good to put scraps to good use, and i really like how this turned out!
7  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Best Friend Cardigan on: January 13, 2009 09:32:13 PM
Here's my second FO of 2009: a Best Friend Cardigan. I knit it in a day, but it took me a couple of days to get the guts up to seam it...and the seaming looks terrible. Luckily, the chunkiness of the yarn masks the mistakes, I think. Unluckily, it's in the upper 80s here in Los Angeles. I guess I'll have to wait a good while to wear this thing.

Comments always welcome!
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / cabley sweater on: January 10, 2009 05:19:07 PM
after a brief hiatus from craftster posting, i'm back Smiley

here is my first FO of 2009, the "cabley sweater." this is the first sweater of my own design. it's made from SWS (that i got on sale!) in natural natural. it's really soft and i'm quite happy with it!

let me know what you think, comments are always welcome!
9  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / help w/very cabley mittens!? on: December 24, 2008 10:11:01 AM
hi craftsters, i've been trying to knit the "very cabley mittens" found here: http://www.kelpknits.com/2007/12/03/very-cabley-mittens-pattern/
i'm stuck in the "left mitten top" section. it seems to me that the pattern is asking for one more stitch than is there. in row 1, the 48 stitches are decreased down to 44. but in row 3, the cable pattern calls for 45 stitches. i've counted and recounted, done the math in my head a couple of times, and frogged and re-knit, but i still come up one stitch short. what is wrong with me?! the kids on ravelry didn't seem to have any issues with the pattern. please help! i'm going crazy!

thank you in advance and happy christmas eve!
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / greenery hat pattern issue on: June 14, 2008 09:44:33 PM
ETA: whoops - i found my error...sorry guys, please delete this thread, moderator!

ok guys, please help. i'm using this pattern right here:

http://www.rootb33r.net/hosted/lilithparker/diary/greenerypatt.pdf

i've knit the rib brim and the first row of the hat. already (on the 2nd row) i'm having issues! to me, the knits and purls aren't matching up. in my opinion, the k2, p3 on row 2 comes 1 stitch too late to match up with the set up from row 1. i need an extra purl in there. did i do something wrong? i've looked on ravelry and no one seems to have had an issue with the pattern. tons of people have knit the hat and love it. what happened? i feel like i've checked over and over again, but i can't find what i did wrong. please help me!!!

thanks in advance Smiley
