11  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Crochet version: Offical Kitty62 Hat on: September 16, 2006 08:54:10 PM
Hi guys! I want to make a hat EXACTLY like this one: http://www.kittyville.com/knit/images/kittyhat.jpg, only I need the crochet version, of course! Does anyone know where I can find something similar? Or, how well does translating from knitting to crocheting work?

Edited by vanillaxlight to change image to a link to avoid hotlinking.
12  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Other sized altoid tins for nanos on: August 29, 2006 04:25:14 PM
I'm planning on buying an iPod nano tomarrow. I know that I need a nice case for it, and I was thinking about using an altoids tin. Right, so, does the nano fit in any other tin then the big one? I'd love to use one of the gum tins, but I don't know if it would fit...
13  FIBER ARTS / Weaving: Discussion and Questions / Emergency Help needed for mom's bday!!!! on: August 20, 2006 12:38:59 AM
Hi! Ok, so my mom inherited my grandmother's loom, its great big huge one of these http://www.stringpage.com/loom/plaid-loom.png I think. Same general idea and concept, regardless. So, my mom likes to loom, and I think knows how, but she never has time or material. So, for her birthday, I want to get her a patten book, and some yarn. But, I know nothing about looming (I'm a crocheter, fiber arts runs in the family.) Can anyone recommend a good book and what kind of yarn, string, etc is used. Thank you!!

16  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / How to Crochet an Oval? on: July 14, 2006 03:06:44 PM
So, I have a little monster running around in my head, and I've decided that I need to crochet him. I need to crochet an oval, not a flat oval, but a 3d one. Like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=59352.0, only oval shaped. Does anyone know of a tutorial on how to make something like that?
17  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Shrinkage (felting) on: June 23, 2006 06:30:24 PM
I know that this is a knitting forum, but I also know that knitters tend to do more felting then crocheting, so I thought I should post it here as well...

I am making a crocheted monster bag with some GORGEOUS hand crafted and painted yarn. I am planning on felting it when i am done, its a 50/50 wool/mohair blend. I'm making my stitches nice and loose as directed by the owner of my LYS. My question is, how much will it shrink? Its width is about 13" right now, and I'd like it to be around 10" after felting. Will it shrink this much? Should I frog it and start over? If it hasn't shrunken enough for me after the first wash, can I toss it back in and it will shrink more???

Thanks!!

19  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Discussion and Questions / Crochet pet projects on: May 12, 2006 01:49:54 PM
I'm looking for two different patterns. The first is a pouch for my big rat boys. I have a pouch for them, but it was from when they were babies, and they've grown quite a bit. Anyone have any ideas? I'm also looking for a cat bed, something similar to the knitted kitty pi, only crochet. Thanks. Smiley
