1  GLASS CRAFTS / Glass Crafts: Completed Projects / Very newbie lampworked beads . . . . . on: August 29, 2009 06:28:47 PM
Hmm, need to look at a photo tutorial before taking pictures next time . . . these shouldn't be NEARLY so yellow! Warning, rank newbie pictures  Undecided

I've had a class followed by 3-4 short sessions on my own, here 'tis . . . .
first class

Playing around with dots, raking & encasing

Playing around with surface texture - should have melted in the blue one further . . . .

A couple frogs I was trying to put together - didn't finish the left one as it had started to crack

Playing around with encased bubbles & wavy beads

Playing with mavers & sculpture

A couple shots of a couple Pandora beads I was playing with

Well, this started out as a bead that I was going to try to rake that went south, but I think it'll work as a pendant . . . .

And three shots of an attempt at a focal bead - encased with texture

2  CLOTHING / Clothing Sewalongs / Anyone up for a garb-along? SCA, Rennie, LARP, costume geeks? on: May 05, 2009 12:39:49 PM
So, Lilies War in Calontir is about a month away . . . . I've probably got enough garb for the whole family for one weekend, and we'll be there 10 days . . . . Time for a costuming marathon - anyone up for one?

I've at least got it in mind to make myself some new Indian garb - lengha, choli & dupatta (sp?), probably some new Rom, and at least one nice Tudor dress for court. Eric needs caftans, shirts & breeches/baggy bedouins/pants, and Lisette - well, she needs almost everything and to not grow a foot between now & then Wink It's such FUN doing garb for 4-year-olds on occasion!
3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Altering a camisole - downsizing? on: December 15, 2006 07:41:07 AM
Just curious if any folks here had made a cami with a shelf bra built in smaller to fit - I just got ahold of about 4 of them for a really great price, but they're about a size too big for me.

Specifically I'm wondering if there are any do's-dont's to pay attention to. Thanks!
4  KNITTING / Knitalongs / Spring poncho KAL, anyone? on: March 30, 2006 09:30:46 PM
So I finally decided I was going to go ahead & put together a poncho for my daughter & one for my almost 5 year old neice for Easter. I'm debating this one:
http://www.stitch1knit1.com/shop/free_poncho_pattern.html
for the neice, probably in pink since she's nuts for it, and maybe this one:
http://www.ptyarn.com/childponcho.html
for DD (one year old), probably in lavender or in a variagated Peaches & Creme that I've got that's white, pink, rose, and lavender. I'd really love to find one for her that has the points on the front & back that has a lacier look to it, since it'll be for dress-up for now.

Of course, after looking at all the patterns, if I have time I need to make myself this one:
