1  Green Beret -Cluster Stitch in Knitting: Completed Projects by knittedrobot08 on: December 24, 2009 09:46:07 AM
Got the pattern from here: http://redheart.com/FreePatterns/tabid/118/Default.aspx?tabid=118&patternid=WR1790.pdf

Mine didn't turn out exactly like the pattern, but I'm happy with it anyway.

I used Red Heart Eco-Ways yarn in the "Asparagus" color instead of the Eco-cotton because I couldn't find it at Joanns.  Wink

2  Saxon Braid Cable Scarf in Knitting: Completed Projects by knittedrobot08 on: December 12, 2009 11:49:27 AM
I knitted my mom a scarf for Christmas. It took a lot of effort to finish up this beauty. I got the cable pattern from a book called "Encyclopedia of Knitting" by Donna Kooler, but I'm prety sure you could find the cable pattern somewhere online too. I just added five knit stiches to the beginning and end of every row. The scarf measures 53" in length.

and here's the detail of the cable

Great story about the yarn. It's supersaver yarn by Red Heart. I got the Medium Thyme color about a year and a half ago and finally used it. Well, I only had one skein of it. So I went over to Joann's to go buy another. Turns out it's a discontinued color there. I had to use "sportweight" of the same color and brand of yarn in order to finish the scarf. I kind of doubt my mom will tell the difference, but I can! I guess I learned the lesson of making sure you have enough yarn before starting a monster project.

3  Crochet:Amigurumi Ninja in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by knittedrobot08 on: November 29, 2009 08:01:57 PM
I crocheted this Amigurumi ninja for my boyfriend. I got the pattern from a book called Crobots, by Nelly Pailloux. I found it pretty tough to crochet with such a small sized hook, so I altered the pattern a little bit when it came to making the limbs. It stands about four inches tall.

4  Crochet: Amigurumi German Shepherd in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by knittedrobot08 on: November 14, 2009 06:04:51 PM
My dog had to be put down last week. My mom and I took it pretty badly. I  crocheted this dog in memory of our German Shepherd named Macee.

I got the pattern from http://www.greyhoundcrafts.com

I used Red Heart yarn instead of the yarn that the pattern called for. I think it was black, and I forget what the marble tan colored yarn was called. I also used a bit smaller eyes than what the pattern called for. The collar is simple purple ribbon and the dog tag was engraved at Petco. Right now the dog sits on the steps and watches Mum do the housework, just like the real Macee always did.

Haven't posted in a while. So good to be back in action.

5  knitted flower hair barrette in Knitting: Completed Projects by knittedrobot08 on: December 27, 2006 11:57:23 AM
I decided to knit a flower hair barrette with some yarn I got at knit picks.

EssentialSolid - Petunia

size 2 straight needles

got the pattern -- http://www.flickr.com/photos/norwayneedles/121174825

I only made 5 petals when the pattern called for 6.

The beads I used are glass beads from Europe.

The hair barrette part is just one of those that bend in one direction to stay shut. I'm not sure what they are called. I just stitched one on the back. Sorry for the blurry pics I'm still getting used to my digital camera.

6  chenille evening handbag in Knitting: Completed Projects by knittedrobot08 on: December 26, 2006 06:57:58 PM
I designed a handbag to knit out of lion brand chenille. The pic looks a little bad because I used flash. I did that to show the detail of the frills and handle. Otherwise, the purse itself is quite dark in the turquoise color it's made in. The pin attached to it has a rose stitched onto it.

9  Crocheted bag -made with no pattern in Crochet: Completed Projects by knittedrobot08 on: July 21, 2006 10:43:42 PM
I decided to crochet a bag using yarn I bought at a garage sale.

I made a small hole on the end so yarn could travel out (if the bag was used as a yarn/project caddy)
