1  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Warning: Adult Language! Metallica Revealed. Now with more thorough disclaimer. on: March 01, 2007 11:26:48 PM
I also posted this in the paper crafts incase it does not belong here.  This is a small collage I want to decoupage on my coffee table along with some other things when I figure out exactly what all I want to do with it.  I do know that I want to put casters on the bottom of each leg, the ones you can lock so they won't roll when you don't want them to.  I cut all of the pieces out of an old Blender mag.  I have another piece that says: Awesomely Mediocre, I might use that instead of the piece at the top that says something about being awkward...  I thought the Cries Like A Bitch was perfect for Llars...

ALSO: With all due respect, to each his own.  I do not mean to offend any Metallica fans here on Craftster.  It was truly not my intent for anyone to perceive this as me disrespecting or degrading any fans.  I just personally don't care for Metallica, and I just thought this was funny....

2  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / Warning: Adult Laguage... Metallica Revealed! on: March 01, 2007 11:14:45 PM
I don't know if this goes here, but here goes... This is a small collage that I want to decoupage on my coffee table once I figure out what else I'm going to do with it.  All of the pieces I cut out of a Blender mag.  I also have a piece cut out that says: Awesomely mediocre. I might use that at the top instead of the piece about being awkward.  I thought the crying like a bitch was perfect for Llars....

ALSO: With all due respect, to each their own.  I mean absolutely no offense to any Metallica fans here on Craftster.

3  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Decapitated Lime! (No Actual Limes Were Hurt In The Making Of This...) on: February 19, 2007 01:11:43 AM
OK, so I took one of those little plastic limes with the juice in it that you get at your random grocery store....

And cut it's head off, because I felt like it!  HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!

In turn, I ended up with a cute little toothpick holder.  Just like I wanted.  I didn't want to use a shot glass.  That just seemed so unoriginal.
4  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / LAST MIN. IDEAS FOR X-MAS PRESENT!!??? on: December 20, 2006 07:00:50 PM
Once again, I waited too long for X-mas shopping this yr.  I've got everyone covered, except for my b/f.  I need ideas for him.  He recently lost his 2 avocado trees, and I was going to replace them.  Just as I thought, it's the wrong time of yr. to find avocado trees, though.  He's 42 and works for FedEx, though he hates his job.  He loves music, all kinds, but already has too many cd's.  I'm seriously talking in the thousands.  He loves cars, action & car movies. (Particularly, anything Clint Eastwood and Dirty Harry.)  I was going to get him the new Dirty Harry collection on DVD, but I think he just got it.  And like me, he's kinda a pack rat, so I don't want to make or get him anything junkie or useless to just lay around the house.

So, all I can think of is finding some sort of car memorbilia.  He loves Corvettes or anything from GM, and BF Goodrich tires (that's my boy!).  And I was thinking some sort of memorbilia, cuz he like old school stuff.  Like his watch he wears was his father's back in the 60's etc.  He like antiques...  Ya know, just old school stuff and cars.   Didn't mean to ramble, but any help I would appreciate!  Thank you, ahead of time.
5  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / My take on the Mini Cheeseburger.... on: November 28, 2006 07:48:43 PM
I made this a lil while ago, and even included onion rings.  My buns didn't come out the way I wanted, but I'm going to work on it some more tomorrow.  I left this burger "blank" for my boyfriend who's fixing to come over.  He can fix it the way he wants it.  I do have the tiny tomatos, onions, and pickles, etc.  He called me on his break a lil while ago, and I told him I was making cheeseburgers and onion rings.  I told him I was gonna fix him one, and he was like... No, I've been eating all day.  I told him I was gonna make him one anyways, because by the time he got here he would probably be hungry again. Ha.  Let me know what you think...

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Welded Metal Art Table on: October 04, 2006 02:07:50 PM
This is a table my ex-BF made for me last X-mas.  I have one he made me from the X-mas before that so I never bothered to get a glass top for it.  I'm posting this cuz I wish I could still weld.  Metal is awesome!  Metal art furniture is so crafty and fun to make and design.  Metal's my favortie creative medium.  let's see if I can get these pics to work...

7  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / BEER GOGGLES!!! 'Nuff Said... on: October 29, 2005 12:28:28 PM
We made these last night and tried them out at a few bars.  People loved 'em!  When we weren't wearing them as goggles we'd put 'em on our heads like when you put your sunglasses on your head, so then you had Bud Light bunny ears.  So, we called ourselves Beer Bunnies and told everyone we were Bar Hopping.  Oh God!  I'm still feeling last night, I've got to be at work in an hour and a half, and we're supposed the be going back out tonight to wear them again!  Oh my aching head!

8  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Extra LARGE (My Take On) Living Lave Lamp (IMG HEAVY!!) on: October 18, 2005 06:13:40 PM
I got the idea from Burpingbedpost's original post.  I also had wondered about the room issue, until I came across this huge glitter lamp on clearance for $40 in a Spencer's Gifts in Knoxville, TN this past weekend.  I couldn't pass it up.  It's 27 in. tall overall and 8 in. in diameter at it's widest part.  The opening at the top was so huge it had this baby food lid looking thing on it to seal it up.  The opening is 2.5 in. in diameter.  So, I had today off of work, and thought here's my chance.  I opened the lid and poured out the contents.  I then took the bottle part into my bathroom and cleaned it out thoroughly in my bathtub with a mild liquid dish detergent 5 times, scrubbing the inside real well each time.  Since I could not find a bottle brush long enough, I used my mom's bath wand (Shhhhhh!!) to scrub out all the residue inside.   I then rinsed it several, several times until suds were not forming from the water pouring in.  Once i was confident that I, myself, could safely drink from it, I rinsed it 4 more times for good measure.  I then filled it with colored pebbles (that go with my purple walls nicley) water, stress coat and my new little betta I named Spook, who looks rather ghostly, to me anyways.  He has plenty of room, and still will once he gets some size on him.  BTW, yes, in that next to last pic that is Dave Brown on the tv, our local weather man, for you other local Memphians or any of you who are in the TV5 viewing area.  That pic was to reference the size of the lamp compared to my 50 in. widescreen tv.  Yes, I told you the lamp was huge.

Here are the pics:

9  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Who loves CHICKEN EARS?!! I do, I do!! on: September 28, 2005 01:55:20 PM
These are the dangly earrings I made from the little chickens that came with my chicken chucker toy.  I tried them out at work the next day after making them, and everyone loved them.  I'm a cashier at a local Sam's Club, so a lot of people got the chance to take a gander at these beauties!  I got lots of comments, questions, and compliments....    Lemme see if I can get this pic to post....

10  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Glass Orb Terrarium??? on: May 18, 2005 03:49:47 PM
A friend of mine a couple of months ago told me her mom went to a local flea market here in Memphis, TN, and said something about someone selling a pretty good sized glass orb on a stand that's supposed to be used a terrarium.  From what she gathered from her mom, the glass orb had a lid that would lift off.  Has anyone heard of these or know where to find one?  Her mom said they were selling them for like $200.  I don't want to spend that much on one, but I have no idea or the materials or equipment to make such a thing.  I've tried in vain to look for it or something similar online, but I have found nothing even close to it.  If anyone can tell me anything I would appreciate it.  Thanks in advance.

P.S.- If it was big enough, I was thinking about getting some fire belly toads or some tree frogs to put in it, ot I just might put my tarantula in it.
