21  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Welded Metal Art Table on: October 04, 2006 02:07:50 PM
This is a table my ex-BF made for me last X-mas.  I have one he made me from the X-mas before that so I never bothered to get a glass top for it.  I'm posting this cuz I wish I could still weld.  Metal is awesome!  Metal art furniture is so crafty and fun to make and design.  Metal's my favortie creative medium.  let's see if I can get these pics to work...

That's awesome!  Have you ever tried masking tape?  I've had no problem with it.  Just make sure you flatten out the masking tape's edges, so it can't bleed under the tape and just use an x-acto to cut out your saying, stencil, or whatever.  It makes good crisp clean lines.

It's some high intensity bulb.  60 watts.  When the lamp was still a lamp, and you would turn it on...  Once it got to the highest temp it was gonna get, you couldn't touch the bottle part for very long at all.  That little bulb puts out a LOT of heat.  I think I would go flourescent.

Yeah, I would stick with a goldfish bowl filter.  Something without a lot of power.

ANd I think the stuff inside lava lamps is wax.

Yeah, I have to change the water about once a week now, but I'm currently looking into hooking it up with an under water filter.  I want his water to be clean, but any kind of filter in an object that size and shape would be hard to maintain, let alone retrieve to be maintained.

Those are great!  They look just like the characters...

Yeah, you can see outa them, sorta...   As you can see they're kinda cock-eyed, so you have to focus on one eye at a time.  Kinda like double vision without being drunk at first.  It really gives you tunnel vision and messes with your depth perception.

29  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / BEER GOGGLES!!! 'Nuff Said... on: October 29, 2005 12:28:28 PM
We made these last night and tried them out at a few bars.  People loved 'em!  When we weren't wearing them as goggles we'd put 'em on our heads like when you put your sunglasses on your head, so then you had Bud Light bunny ears.  So, we called ourselves Beer Bunnies and told everyone we were Bar Hopping.  Oh God!  I'm still feeling last night, I've got to be at work in an hour and a half, and we're supposed the be going back out tonight to wear them again!  Oh my aching head!

Oh, BTW, I leave the cap off for now because I haven't had a chance to drill any holes in it yet.  I just put the cap on for the pics.  When I can drill holes in the cap then I'll keep the cap on it.
