21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Tattoo Messenger on: December 26, 2006 09:06:23 PM
I've been working on this bag for about a week and have finally finished it:

It has a ton of pockets, zippered pockets, and a spot for tools (like pens, etc.) on the inside:

The fabric is Alexander Henry's Inked Girls and the pattern for the bag is Amy Butler's High Street Messenger.

22  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / LaRue Messanger Tote on: December 06, 2006 01:08:04 PM
Similar to the bag Anne Hathaway used in the Devil Wears Prada (you can see it at this link:
http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b183/susie_bubble/Style%20Bubble/dwpbag3.jpg ) - here's my version:

I used the free download from HotPatterns for this one.  Here's the link to the pattern (available until Dec. 31):

23  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Voodoo Pincushion on: December 04, 2006 07:42:13 PM
I've been wanting a 'voodoo' pincushion (like Jeffery's from Project Runway) for awhile now.  I had ordered some tattoo fabric last week and it screamed to make one.... and here it is!

24  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Faux Pears on: November 21, 2006 08:52:25 PM
I've been on a stuffed craft making binge and came up with these the other day:

They started out as pincushions, but wound up making a few for decoration and holiday ornaments....  I've put up a tutorial and pattern on my site, it would up being 6 pages and seemed a bit excessive to post in an individual message.
25  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Plucky the stuffed chicken & a Gingerbread Man on: November 15, 2006 01:30:18 PM

Here's plucky - he's from the book Plush-o-Rama which I recently purchased.  The pattern is from the desigerns of Creature co-op (they also make a plucky which retails for $26, I made mine for $3).

I also made a gingerbread man inspired by the book:

I believe that I have become addicted to making stuffies.
26  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / Zombie Bride - img. heavy! on: October 30, 2006 07:23:50 AM
I made a zombie bride costume for my daughter this halloween.  Here's the completed costume:

I started making the accessories first.  For her bouquet, I took a set of red silk roses and painted them black (they actually look much darker in real life).  Here's the before and after:

I also made the headband - which is made from more painted roses (much smaller than the boquet) and black and red tulle:

Since the fabric had a rotten\eaten away look to it I had to line the bodice with some flesh colored lining...I'm not sure my daughter would have worn it otherwise!  The rest of the dress is made from white satin and off-white lace and lots of trim!

27  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / The Zombie Bride on: October 03, 2006 07:48:45 AM
I know that I've already posted this in the costume-sew along thread, but I'm so excited to have my daughter's costume finished, I just have to share with everyone!  It took several weeks to complete and I enjoyed making it, but I'm happy to have it done before Halloween:

as you can tell, she's very into the costume look (normally she is smiling and has dimples, but I'm not sure that zombie brides are supposed to smile).  I've posted a larger pic on my blog that allows you to see the dress details better, but it seemed to large to post here.  Thanks for letting me share my excitement!
28  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / So excited, I just had to share (no peeking Miss_Vicky) on: September 09, 2006 09:55:10 AM
I normally wouldn't post pictures of a completed swap project before I send it out, but I just got so excited about this one that I couldn't wait - it's not often that I get this pumped up about making something!  Here's an apron that I'm made for my partner (I'm posting the link and not the picture since it is kind of large):

29  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sweet Featherd Purse on: September 01, 2006 02:40:48 PM
Awhile ago, my daughter wanted a new purse.  She had picked everything out - some pink fabric with deserts on it, some purple feather trim, and some clear handles.  She even managed to trace the pattern from a book, and cut out the fabric.  But it sat and sat on her desk, that is until I decided to sew it up for her.  Here's how it turned out:

30  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Dracula Cuddly Plush on: August 21, 2006 09:42:17 AM
I am in love with Cuddly Rigor Mortis dolls.  So much so, that last night I made this:

Just had to share, I don't make plushes very often!
