21  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / unique wallet design on: June 17, 2008 12:50:15 PM
Here's something I've been working on for a while.  I like wallets with credit card slots in them so I can keep everything organized, but of course I just have to be different and try to make vertical credit card slots instead of horizontal ones.  I love these wallets and I've been using one since October (is it bad to use the same one with halloween print through March?  Wink ).

Here's the outside.  I was going for an envelope shape

Here's the inside with the credit card slots

Here's the one I've been using since March when I decided I really should change to a more spring-ish wallet.

Comments and crits always welcome!
22  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Re: Need a critique of your Etsy shop? This is the place! on: June 16, 2008 02:46:41 PM
since I'm asking for help I figured I'd give some too   Smiley

beehart-I like your bags a lot, but it seems like the pricing might be a little high.  I say this because it would be nice to add some pockets, applique, or some other sort of embellishment, and if I was buying I have to have pockets.  Maybe offer a monogram or flowers/animals as a custom order.  It looks like most of your fabrics are solid colored, so it would be perfect to add a little something extra.

I am also blindly leaping into the etsy world, and I would like some help before I get myself in over my head.  I only have a couple items listed, but I will add to it soon.  Thanks everyone!

I like the handles.  It's an interesting way of keeping it closed.  Nice job!

I like to frame small projects.  They don't get lost in the bottom of my closet that way.  If possible you could get a frame that holds several pictures and maybe get a post card of the place that inspired this and write something about why it's special to you.  It is a lovely embroidery, you should put it to use!

These are great!  My mom made my sister and me each one when we were born and we still have them.  I'm making one for my boyfriend for this Christmas.  Good luck getting them done in time.  I know how time consuming they are.  Show us the others when they're done   Wink
28  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: ANOTHER Pin Cushion Swap Round 6 GALLERY on: March 18, 2008 10:28:02 AM
I received yesterday!  These pincushions are great because they both keep my pins contained.  The green one is on top of a box and the leopard print is a pillow inside a box.  I mentioned being unorganized with my crafty things and this will help a lot.  These are very creative!  Thanks, tinkerbella, I love my pincushions!

I'm glad you liked the owls, Jess.  I had a hard time sending them away  Wink It's always fun coming up with new ideas and this was the first pin cushion and needle book I've made.  UPS says mine should be here on Monday and I'm super excited!

What a cute kitty!  And the wrist pincushion is a good idea.  My wrist one is the slap style that I bought from Joann's.  Not very exciting.  Tinkerbella, yours is all done and boxed and will be in the mail first thing tomorrow.
