91  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General / First cards post-Thanksgiving heavy (LOTS o fotos) on: August 08, 2006 07:44:03 PM
My first post of cards I make. Everyone is like a snowflake, individual. Opinions?

Hope you like them!
92  SEWING IN GENERAL / Sewing Machines: Discussion and Questions / Swappable Singer feet? on: August 05, 2006 03:32:22 PM
I'm not sure if this is the right area for this query, but here goes:

My grandma gave me an old Singer machine from god knows when (based on looks, anywhere from 60's to 80's but it's HEAVY)

It works great, but I want more feet. I only have the standard 1/4" foot.

Thus my question: can you buy new Singer feet and put them on old machines or do you have to have the specific ones made for your model?

I would LOVE to have narrow hem feet, etc.

Thanks for any help!
93  CLOTHING / Clothing: Discussion and Questions / Busty Dart help! on: July 29, 2006 03:34:20 PM
Hey all!

I'm in a quandry...
Every time I make a top with darts, it doesn't fit. I'm a DD, but wear a 6/8 everywhere else. The darts ride up high, but I am unsure how to move them down. Can I just make them shorter or do I need to move the whole dart down?

Thanks for any help!
94  QUILTING / Quilting: Discussion and Questions / Ethnic Patchwork Question on: July 16, 2006 07:01:57 AM
Hey all!

My bf is part American Indian and would really love to get something from his crafty gf. He's always wanted something done in Seminole patchwork.

Anybody have any good resources re:Seminole patchwork?

Thanks!  Smiley
95  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Pineapple Motif Swimsuit Ideas Needed! (Warning: Maxim photos ahead) on: July 02, 2006 08:50:52 PM
Hey all!

I'm an intermediate crocheter and I have fallen in lust with this swimsuit. I REALLY want to make it myself to save money (and impress my bf with sexy crochet for once) but I'm unsure as to how to go about it.

Anybody have a similar pattern available? I have figured how to do the top and bottom solid parts (looks like sc), but do I do the whole thing as 1 piece or do I do the top and bottom separately and make a motif to join them?

I've got the whole pineapple thing down, at least!

Any help would be much appreciated!

96  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Marcel, the Blue Monkey (Img heavy) on: May 20, 2006 02:16:09 PM
Hi all! First post in toys. I loved all the sock monkeys I've been seeing (although the ones done with the traditional socks creep me out for some reason. Sorry!)

My one friend's little boy is turning one tomorrow, so I decided he needed a monkey, in colors his masculine daddy could handle. So Marcel was born.

Marcel is such a little ham:

Hope you all like him too! It'll be hard to give him up to the little guy!  Cheesy
97  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Bushleague photographer tries her hand (WARNING: Slight NUDITY) on: May 07, 2006 06:27:26 PM
Hey all!

I'm a wannabe photographer (which means I have NO formal training, it's just a hobby) who uses digital and LOVES her photo editing software.

So a friend is making up a photo album for her bf for his birthday and wanted me to shoot her. I love the look of intense contrast in b&w photos, but I'm not sure if these look better this way or with a lighter look. She's going for a could-be-a-model-in-a-magazine look, so naturalism is not an issue.

(And yes, I checked with her to make sure it's ok for you guys to see these. She's a Craftster fan too!)

Opinions, comments and gentle criticism welcome!

98  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Handcuff Lyrics to add to gift? on: April 29, 2006 06:54:38 AM
Hi all! I'm planning on stenciling a tee for my boyfriend (a thank you gift).

He's a cop and I found a great stencil of handcuffs to use. I want to add something else. I couldn't find any really good jokes, but does anybody have any song lyrics or something I could add?

99  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Amazing Lilacs Camera Pouch on: April 28, 2006 06:58:12 PM
Amazing because I did 'er freehand (aka pattern on the fly). Lilacs because I'm using up scraps.
I had this prequilted lining and a purdy cotton lilac print, ribbon ties.
A smidge extra room for batteries, etc.

100  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / How can I make this cute Old Navy tie-front shrug? on: April 26, 2006 09:49:06 AM
I LUV this shrug from Old Navy but I'm flat-butt broke.
It looks like a bunch of motifs sewn together, but I need ideas about yarn weight and motif ideas.
